p.s. IMHO not even HalfLife2 characters look that good in realtime!! If only games could render that well at decent framerates!!!!! Actually, if only P6 could render that well in realtime at decent framerates!! G

"Open Graphics Language"
IMHO, current versions of OpenGL far, far, far, far, ..., far surpass anything possible anywhere at anytime done using software-only methods.
Point: Direct hardware computations. No CPU, no OS overhead at the driver/firmware levels, no system memory (in most cases - textures are stored directly on the Graphics card). You can't get any faster than a direct link to data using direct firmware algorithms. The only bottleneck is between the graphics card, HAL/OS, (ETA) and maybe the competency of the OGL developer.
Anybody who thinks different can discuss this with a veteran programmer (me!). ;)

"All the posts about wariness of the evil, new, misunderstood OpenGL were for naught!! Now try this with 7 or more fully textured and clothed figures too!
Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(
Food for thought.....

I've gotten up to 3 Unimesh figures (M3, V3 & SP), a Scene, clothing, skin textures, hair (with Transparencies & textures), Props, Morphs, Procedural shaders from RDNA for P6 & lighting and still had no issues using the OpenGL. This image is at Renderotica due to content.
Performance is greatly improved over Poser 5. In fact, the picture in my gallery, the Archmage's First Girl, was rendered in P6 Firefly using M3, V3, textures, clothing, props, Procedural Shaders, Hair and a Multi-plane Cyclorama Scene. This image is at Poser Pros & Renderotica, I tried uploading here, but the galleries were being a pain.
I've got a 4 unimesh (m3 x2 & v3 x2)scene in the works with one of Kawecki's Background scenes and some of Stonemasons Props. This scene brough P5 to it's knees on my current Poser rig. Edited to specify where these images are. For both galleries my name is Lilliana.

Well, in this case I like it that I was wrong. I'd just want to know, question of curiosity as I don't have Poser 6, what settings you have in Poser? Texture shading? Smart Window refresh? Smart Live Selection? AntiAliased lines? Dual Planes? (is not dual monitors) Hardware lighting? Active object plane? It's good that they did an outstanding job with this. Your image looks very nice indeed!
I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now I'll be mad. (Rumi)

OpenGL stands for "Open Graphics Library".It was created by Silicon Graphics Inc. (SGI) in 1992 as an open and system-independent graphics library.

...or "Open Graphics Language". :) I've seen both quite often. Even if this one is unofficial, it has definitely stuck.
