Subject: New To Faceroom - Why doesn't Spawn Morph Target save a file?

I've clicked and clicked on that Spawn Morph Target button in the face room and it doesn't seem to do anything. No saved file dialogue, no saved OBJ's. What's it do anyway?

Hi Steve, You are actually spawning morphs onto the character when you hit that button. Spawn a morph and then go back into the pose room. Select the head and look in the (I think the name is) "other" category and you should see your newly spawned morph. Set it to 1 and you should have the new face on your character. Cheers, Joe

Dr. Geep has some excellent tutorials. Here is a link to some of them, including the face room.

Thanks guys. I'm having a blast with the face room. Too bad I can't make it work on Dork & Posette too. Now that would be fun!

I'm redoing my runtime folder and making it into more organized multiple runtime folders. Once done I want to do Dr.Geep's Material Room tutorial because I want to try my hand at making my own clothing textures so I don't feel so limited. I'm not sure what the face room is really for. I only use Vicky so far and I can change her face in the Pose room. I do know you can take photographs in there and "recreate" it, but I don't know what figures you would be able to use the face on other than Judy or Don. I don't think you can use them on the Millenium characters. When people make character addons, do they just use Vicky and turn the morph dials in order to get a different face and body shape or do they make their own models in a 3D program? Or do they take the head of Vicky into the face room and use photographs to recreate the face on Vicky and then save it?

Well in Poser 6 you can take Don, Judy, Will, Penny, Jessi & James into the face room (Not the new P6 Kids or any of the Poser 4 people though.) and apply a bunch of generic morphs like the 4 ethnic's (Afro, Asian, Indian and European), Two Genders, and Age Morphs as well as import your own faces in for texturing purposes. I've only been playing with James and Don so far. I'm loving the results. I don't know if I'll crack open Poser 4 again for months now!

What is bugging me about the face room is there seem not to be morph chanenels for simple opperations like making the nose bigger or smaller, instead I have to magnet back in the Pose Room... is there something I am missing?

yep... Use the putty tool in the face room.
