I have a new original Poser Figure on my site. Like my other models, modelled in Wings3d. This time with a displacement map made in ZBrush.

The figure is set up for Poser 5. I am still waiting for Poser 6, but I am not expecting any problems with it.

The model should work in Poser 4, but without displacement and you have to set up the textures yourself.

Have Fun,
Stefan

WOW! That's beautiful!! I love scuptures. That would look great carved out of real stone.

Here's how he looks in Poser 6: (No changes were made to the material settings, this is exactly the way he loads)

This image was done in Poser 4, just so you've got a frame of reference. A few issues, but nothing major. Really, a great figure. I may make him (it?) a couple of new skins, maybe something in a nice marble or a lizard skin just to see what it looks like. Thanks for sharing.

Heaps of thanks!

Thank you all! Matrian_Manhunter: Your picture made me laugh; working on a Notebook with is fingers will be hard. Either on him or on the notebook. ;-) The displacement is not showing. I am assuming you dont have disabled displacement in the render settings. Can you send me a screenshoot of the skin material as it shows in the poser 6 material room? Ganthor: Cool pic, I like the poses. New Skins would be awesome, my own texturing skills are rather limited. Stefan

This is wonderful for lurking out of a cliff or rock-strewn forest! Thank you! Carolly

Poser 4 doesn't do displacement - just bump mapping. DAZ|Studio does, so with the right Surfaces set up the figure should work fine there.

D|S to complete the collection (unless someone wants to add Bryce, Vue etc.). Displacement set to +/-1cm, most surfaces set to Matte and Glossiness turned up on the rest (it comes in at 1% for most, giving huge washed out highlights - the next build of D|S is supposed to improve the reading of Poser highlight size settings).

quinlor ( ) posted Mon, 04 April 2005 at 11:38 AM

Comes out nice in D|S, too! I use an alternate speculare node in my Poser 5 Material settings, the highlight strength and size is controlled by a map. I think D|S can not read that information.

webmaster421 ( ) posted Mon, 04 April 2005 at 2:09 PM

Thank you so very much!! He looks VERY Cool!!!

RHaseltine ( ) posted Mon, 04 April 2005 at 3:33 PM

Ah, that explains why Poser 5 items often import that way - I thought it was just the way D|S treated the settings.
