Subject: Boolean operation Negative object

I try learning Bryce.After boolean operation negative object stays again where it is after rendering.This is too disturbing to me.For example I open a window hole on the wall by boolean.But how can I put exactly and easely in place the windowframe as I see yet there negative cube. Is there something that I dont know.Can u please explain me.?? thanks a lot.

ISSE, Bryce Boolean is not a true object Boolean operation. Its all smoke and mirrors done through the mechanism of software. True Boolean operations are mathematical algorithms, which involve operands which digitally can add, subtract and transect each other. In Bryce, while in mesh mode, you can always see the primitives involved in the Boolean operation. This is further compounded by the bounding box which forms around the Boolean group.

To make the meshes less confusing, it is always best to give each mesh their own family color to help distinguish them from each other. The family color can be selected by first selecting the mesh and in the meshs drop down dialog, theres a little window right under the Attributes dialog which is usually gray by default. Clinking in this little window will allow you to change the family colors and to rename the family.

The window frame will not be affected by the negative mesh because by the default the window frame mesh is neutral. I know that the negative mesh may hamper and confuse your view but you must get accustomed to using the top, front, side and directors views and rotating meshes to manipulate the objects into place.

ISSE, are you using "Group" with your booleans? Are you having problems rendering, or placing your objects?
