Poser5. For double sided do you mean only a "2D surface"? i do not think this is the problem. originally were double sided and where pretty worst once imported in Poser, all - left and right. So i slightly separated the surfaces by adding some "depth" -see pic. as you may see the "noise" is different from the DD surface "noise" the wings you see are the same item and once imported in poser duplicated and turned - 1 to the left, the other 1 to the right. just a try when i saw the "noisy" cr2! there is more - some other items situated on the "noisy" side will become "noised" once turned to figure, althought they are pretty consistent (not showed into pic).if it isn't a double sided problem could it be a uv mapping error? do you have a texture applied when you get the noise?
Could be a UV problem, althought no textures, only P5 materials ...the wings you see in the pics are the same item replicated and turned of 180 degrees (not specular). the 2 resulting props hold well the materials until i turn them into a figure.... ...only once turned to figure the "noise" appears.
This tends to be a problem with Poser 5 mats that use "Noise or Granite" in one of the nodes. Unplug the node and it will be fine again. The model if fine. it is basicley a Math calculation error. If the Noise or Granite node is pluged into Bump it happens quite often. I fight this problem all the time when makeing new mats. You can also check the math values of the nodes. use round numbers .2 not .156 the simpler the math is the better it will work. You can also switch the bump node to displacement or gradient bump. The effect is not quite the same but it works right.

Hi, need a little help :)I'm making a poser figure (cr2) and i'm experiencing something noisy.
the single props composing the final figure work well, see pic
while when i turn into a figure the parts on the right side take some "noise", see pic
inner original names for the materials are identical
i tryed to fix in different way:
duplicate and specular into modeller - always noisy
imported 2 identical parts an than repositioned in Poser - when turned to figure always noisy
there is a way to fix?
thanks in advance
