Subject: P6 Dynamic clothing help Please!

I have never posted before, but find myself in such a tizzy trying to figure this out, I am here begging for help. I had had P4, and just got my copy of P6 yesterday and have never worked with dynamic clothing. Wether I use v3 and one of the freebie dynamics from renderosity, or Jessi, and her conforming dress, when I do what i am told, the entire clothing figure "dissapears". I have followed the manual (12 times now) to the letter, setting up a new simulation, clothify, and then chosing to collide against body as it tells you. But once I run the simulation, the dress is gone. Any suggestions would be HIGHLY appreciated

Send me your E-mail address in an IM and I'll send over a tute that I had for Poser5. It works the same way. thefixer poser coordinator

Tiari, I just sent you an IM as well ... I wrote the tutorial for the tutorials manual ... If there is something in there that isn't clear I'd like to help you out with it so that I can make it more clear. If you're having a problem with it I'd like to help as well! Thanks!

Hey Deecey... I use Vue 5 esprit to create my scenes and I'm having a bit of trouble with dynamic clothes myself. I too came from P4. Can I have the clothing drape to the character's pose at from 1? Or does the first frame always have to be the zeroed pose. I also am having trouble getting the dynamic clothes into vue. I don't really know why though. The rest of the PZ3 loads into vue fine, but the dress is nonexistent. It's a prop, the same as the shoes, so why doesn't it show up when the shoes do? Hopefully you can help me out, Dragontales.

You can have a pose other than default in frame 1 ... just be sure to check the "Start draping from zero pose" option when you set up your simulation stuff. The draping calculations SHOULD take care of the rest. Sometimes, though, if the change from the default pose is real extreme, you can always use the option of starting at default pose in frame 1, and working your way toward the complex pose in a later frame. Not having Vue 5 I'm afraid I can't help you with that. I do have Vue 4 but I'm assuming the Poser support is different there.

that's cool, If I can at least solve the first part, as it seems I can now, I'll be happy. Thanks for the info on the option to drape from zero pose. That's apparently what I was missing. Thanks for the quick response... Dragontales

Dragontales, In order for the dynamic clothing to show up in Vue, you have to have the Mover plugin. Mover 5 will allow you to import dynamic clothing and dynamic hair with the .pz3 file.
