Subject: Posing Pairs

I'm having troubles with pairs of people. When I get them posed, I save the poses (once for each of the 2 people in the scene). When I try to apply the poses in another scene, using two different characters, the poses come in about right-- except that one or both of the people are not oriented the way they were when the poses were saved. For example, two people shaking hands might repeat with one of the characters facing sideways. This has also happened with some paired poses that I have downloaded. Are there any tips for how to get the posed characters to appear in the correct orientation? Thanks, - JimW

It took me a while to figure this one out also and I am no expert in trying to explain it...The secret seems to lie in the xyz translation settings of the figures hips...You need to make sure the settings for both figures are set to zero...From there create your poses and save them with names that will allow you to know which pose is which...As far as downloaded poses go I am not really sure...It would depend on how the person that created them set the figures up before saving the actual poses...I have one set of pair poses for sale in the store here and have had no inquiries about this matter which leads me to believe that what I did has worked for everyone....I hope this info helps and if there is anyone else that knows more about this than I do hopefully they will come along and be able to offer more advice on the subject than I can....

Kennect, That makes a lot of sense. I did have the hips selected when I saved the poses (there was no relocation of the bodies, only the hips). But when I tried to re-apply the poses with new characters (also with hips selected), I got the ramdom orientation. Strange that I never have had this problem with Schlabber's paired poses. Does he have some secret? - Jim W

heyas; i think the pose saves the hip translation/rotation information, but not the body information. so if you bend over one guy by his hips, it will remember that, but then if you twist his body around so he's facing the back, it won't remember that. i think. :)
