Ok is it me? I wanted to "use" jessi last night I really did! Loaded her up and "bleeurggh" What a minger. She even makes Judy look gorgeous!! Sorry CL, I know you've tried but V3 is still the Queen of Poser in my book!! Hope I don't get in trouble now ;-( thefixer poser coordinator

I find Jessi's default face rather creepy, but I've seen some excellent results using the face room. Her head is quite morphable.

Might be interesting to have a celebrity clone challenge...

RDNA's morphs can really do wonders on her too. Gives her TONS of different facial morphing parameters.

Here's a quick "Work In Progress" screencap render of a scene I'm working on with Jessi. This is after some morphing with RDNA's face morphs to 'soften' her default appearance, as well as some fiddling around with the FBM's. The default FBM's are just horrible, but I managed to get a shape I liked out of them.

Perhaps you'll think she's ugly here as well, shrugs but honestly, I think with some good morphing, she can be made into quite a natural beauty.

I have to do something about the harsh shoulder indentations. Perhaps it's time to break out Zbrush and give her a go. ;-)

I must agree with the fixer. The P6 figures are a major step backwards. P5 Judy is easily made realistic and attractive looking in the face room. P6 jess is not. I must say that the P6 figs have fine default textures though.

RNDA has a body morph pack now, to go with the head morph pack. Here's voluptuous Jessi:

ProductSample4361.jpg

I must say, that pose really emphasizes how odd her proportions are. Her upper arms are way too short compared to her lower arms, and it really shows in certain poses.

movida ( ) posted Fri, 08 April 2005 at 2:51 PM · edited Fri, 08 April 2005 at 2:58 PM

so "x scale" her shoulders 115% and forearms 85%. Poses only need minimal tweaking then. I've been playing with some of Firebirdzs' poses. Personally I prefer her face (default or otherwise), it's at least human looking :)

The upper arms are very wrong, they should be almost twice as long as they are.

maxxxmodelz ( ) posted Fri, 08 April 2005 at 6:06 PM

Twice as long? I just measured my upper arm from the bottom of the deltoid to the elbow bend, then from the elbow bend to my wrist bone, and my forearm is longer than my upper arm by only about 2 or so inches. Possibly less. Her upper arm might be a bit short, but only by a few inches (percentages), unless I'm a freak too! :-)

maxxxmodelz, that is a realy beautiful character. I just love the face. thanks :)

thefixer, I just bought into V3 with the DAZ morph sets and I am totally bumming out about it. As far as INJ/REM I find I have to load everything up on a sculpting figure and spawn a morph target to use on a small .cr2 posing figure wich is exactly how I manage V2. I just don't see in what way the V3 figure is better than V2 at all. Could you explain to me? I may just not know how to get the best use for it or maybe my output resolution is to small to show the differnce. I would apreciate your helping me "get" V3.

Also I have been overwhelmed by work and have not had a chance checking this out but should not the Firefly smoothing controls put a big dent in people objects to Posette? The figure has a great body, about a million morfs are available, and fine detail can be applied better with displacement than with poly pushing. I have always found that low poly figures take textures better than high poly anyway.

So what is the reason for V3s popularity?

And where can I find some FREE M3 textures? I understand I could use them on V3 for a male character. I have a Poserworld CD with all these cool V3male clothes I would like to use. Only found one free M3 texture here or through Google and it was horror of some sort. I have a terrible time search the store but I'm gonna go there now and see if there is anything afordable to me.

Thanks.

Jessi's face is really beautiful. Her expression "out-of-the-box" makes her look ugly. Just play with the expression dials a bit ... Maxxx, are you trying to make Jessi pregnant?

pokeydots ( ) posted Sat, 09 April 2005 at 1:59 AM

I think Max is trying to make her look like a real woman ;o) Nice job too :)

A couple of minutes in the faceroom and Jessi looks great.

R_Hatch ( ) posted Sat, 09 April 2005 at 2:16 AM

I'm sorry Wyrwulf, but that is a very deceptive product. Too many people will accidentally buy your "Vulturous Jessi" thinking that they are ordering "Voluptuous Jessi", and you will be in Jamaica with your ill-gotten funds before the admins can ban you. For shame ;-p

wyrwulf ( ) posted Sat, 09 April 2005 at 2:25 AM

I saved the morph. The bidding starts at $250,000 USD.

thefixer ( ) posted Sat, 09 April 2005 at 3:25 AM

Momodot: The easiest way to "sculpt" V3 quickly is with the numerous character packs that are available for her both as freebies and purchases. These are essentially "inject poses" which put the required morphs in for you in one click. If you want to make your own that is very easy as well as long as you have the head and body morphs to go with the base figure. As for M3 textures check out "ajax" in free stuff here, lots of textures that work on M3. Cheers! thefixer poser coordinator

It's true that smoothing can make Posette look better, but she still looks like Posette. Some artists use Poser figures to get a likeness - of clients, family members, celebrities, politicians, or just the man or woman of their dreams. That's where V3's easy morphability shines.

The INJ/REM system is meant to make V3 lighter on the system resources. You can inject only the morphs you want, and leave out the others. And you can add or remove morphs at any stage, if you find you need a morph you didn't think you'd need.

It is easier to just load everything up; that's what I usually do. When you're done, you can remove the unneeded morphs. There's a little program by NeilP in Free Stuff that deletes unused morphs from V3.

V3 isn't my favorite female figure; I prefer Stephanie Petite. But I probably use V3 the most, because she's got the most stuff. That counts for a lot, I think.

momodot ( ) posted Sat, 09 April 2005 at 12:31 PM

I'll try... I hadn't checked the .crz files but I had thought from something I read that REMpose only hid dial, that they did not free up any memory, and that one had to export the character morph one made and import it back in on a blank V3. I'll check out this NeilP thing. Thanks. fixer, thanks for the Ajax tip. I am beginning to think I am completely search impared. I can never find what I want in Freestuff or the Market Place. I just seem not to be able to find the right keywords at all! --------------------------------- For me Ajax is showing Easypose stuff and shaders. I don't think I have a nudity filter up, I'll have to check.
