Great way of using reference drawings. I'm jealous.
This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

Neat. :) Are the plans from any place we know of, or is it something you scanned?

BTW bazze you will hate the canopy on this I can tell you already if you model all the details in it. If you don't you will hate doing the texture on the canopy. Just my experience. The axis has all the canopies with all the bars etc. My J2M3 Raiden had me at my wits end. I still want to redo it.

bars can probably be faked by beveling the vertices on the canopy, then extruding slightly (light touch). Looks good to me..now if someone can building those wierdo Nazi planes that never got built (like the one with the rocket propeller blades, etc..) plans for the future..;)

pakled it can be doen but here is the rub. You do it before smoothing you have to remember to set all the edeges or else you get a mess. AFtr smoothign there are too many polygons there and it is difficult to get the size set for the canopy. It can be done but just like when you were a kid making models the canopy was the make or break part. (one glue spot one paint blotch)

On things like that - remember - the slide tool is your friend. ;)

Ok, time for the next WW2 warbird. I have just started and have basically located a bunch of reference pictures + set up the workspace.
The base mesh will be a freebie but the UV-mapped and textured version with all the add ons will be sold via the marketplace. Having one free version and one 15$ version is a rather new approach for me but has worked rather well with my previous model (the Spitfire).
