Changed camera POV and modeled some more stuff for it, what do you guys think (image above is postvorked with adding glare effect and dust and some color correctios), original render will follow in my next post :D

Here is pure Bryce 5 render as is :)

CrazyDawg ( ) posted Mon, 11 April 2005 at 2:29 PM

now i like it. the way you have the light breaking through the dust is great. Looks like i'm looking into a room, the cat gives it that homely feel. Well done.

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

Thanks, CD, I'll play with it more when I actually wake up, this was just a bit of post done during my cofee time, will post more tonite after work and see what I can do to make it look better ! :)

I like cats, but i would say in this case, get rid of it, or make it like a statue (wich your are good at anyway). I don't think that the dust particles are very convincing, my opinion O_-

I don't see much dust anyway. :-) Get rid of the cat, increase the specularity and/or reflectivity on the drawer chest a bit and it will be excellent. And I like this POV much better.

Making the cat like a statue is a good idea...right now it looks sort of stiff and phony. Lighting is very well done as are the rest of the objects in the scene.

lordstormdragon ( ) posted Mon, 11 April 2005 at 6:15 PM

I like it a lot! Good work on the lighting.

TobinLam ( ) posted Mon, 11 April 2005 at 9:30 PM

I don't really like the dust. When I imagine a photograph like that there either isn't any dust actually visible or there is a lot of really fine grain dust. Your dust looks more like pixie dust to me. It would look great if it was smaller. That is a great image.

vasquez ( ) posted Tue, 12 April 2005 at 2:07 AM

I like the improvements you made (except the cat) light and dust are just fine for me. But I preferred much more the older POV, it was more balanced. Go on you're doing well here!

Hey, thank you, ya all, lots of very nice suggestions, yep, I felt that cat needed to go, so I replaced it with statue (which I made some time ago), dust, dunno, my first attempt in UniverseImageCreator starfield effect, I'll see about that :)

I have regular render coming up in 30 minutes, no volumetrics and no all that fancy stuff, to give you guys updates on new objects in the scene, cuz I'm gonna need some feedback on composition itself, and when that's OK I'm gonna proceed to final render :D

Lol, how many I'm gonna have (?), I guess as many as needed to get it right ! :)

Replaced cat with the statue, and I like it better already, added couple more models and moved everything around a bit, what do you ppl think about composition ? :D

Tonite I'm prolly gonna do "final gathering"(:P) thing with all bells and whistles turned on + volumetrics, hopefully it's gonna be done in less than 3 days, lol ! :D

Awesome, its like one of those games see whats changed, lol, the painting on the wall is different ;P I really like it. Unfortunately, its real difficult to make a poser cat look real, I love the switch to the statue.

Analog-X64 ( ) posted Tue, 12 April 2005 at 11:31 AM

I think the original cat would have looked ok if it were just sitting and looking out the window. The paw up in the air and that wired look on its face was uncharacteristics, but the Statue is a good replacement.

I like the image in post 12 the most, of these images.

Looking very good.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!
