I was kind of asking myself...looks like an owl to me. It just flew over my head, and I damn near went in water again flipping around to catch it. Those flowers surprised me the way they came out of cam. Kind of 3D looking to me. Sometimes I think shooting with a 70-300 lens is better than a macro. But then looking up at your top one...I think it is time to get back to some like that agin too for spring. and I thought that was a Loon in the bottom one.

absence but in the mastery of his passions."
Joe i LOVE those blossoms!!!!!!!!! we started getting them here about 5 days ago. no pics yet of any blossoms. your birds and scenery shot is quite beautiful! doug...fabulous flowers...lighting is awesome! kinda looks like an owl...fantastic capture. careful!!! :) i have a couple but they're boring compared to what i see here. Spring has sprung and i am going CRAZY!!! I LOVE IT!!!!
no :]... with Spring/Summer... the critters come out to play!! & looking for water we've had 2 guests get stung by scorpions that crawled into bed with them at separate times, if you don't roll on them they'll leave you alone & no worse then a wasp sting
i had one hiding in my jeans once, you never saw someone rip off a pr of jeans as fast as i did just then! got stung twice... oooooooo
& the rattlers, you just need to be aware of & look where you step walking cross country, wearing boots help cuz you DO NOT want to be bit by one of those!!! bad news... i lost one of my favorite cats to a rattler up near the house :(
i must be in a gabby mood :] i get that way when i'm excited :] hope i'm not generating too many ebots for you guys... i think when i get my highspeed it'll be better... those ebots... hopefully :o)))

yes :(... but that's the country life, i'm use to it now... can be just as tough on the animals but it's a natural occurance... & cats are curious, he was fearless... probably was just protecting the area, good mousers for sure but taking on rattlesnakes is best left to the wilder bigger cats (i.e. bobcats)... k, off to clean house & get out for awhile... Happy Spring! :]
Each spring we see them start to come out. They have one tunnel(right by the nose of this one) and a few others we haven't discovered yet. These peaceful vegitarians sit for a moment but if we get within 15 feet or so, they split right down the tunnel.
So, not a good pic, taken "on the run" with my old carry cam, Minolta dimage100. That was the closest we could get..
