Subject: IBL AO lighting and Transparency?

Someone point me to where this was dealt with, if dealt with:

The attached image shows some really cool looking eyes, for the humanoid alien types. (Captain Kirk would love her!)

Only thing she's supposed to be human. Brown eyed and with eyelashes.
Poser 6(duh!), IBL AO Jungle Shade light preset with one additional spotlight with Shadow: Depth maps, SBR=6.0, SMB=0.8, Color=Black, Diffuse/Specular=White, Intensity=200%

Help!

All of the eyelash transmaps are present.

Is there are transmap on the hair, too? Because that seems to be rendering okay. It's an obvious suggestion, but check the trans settings on the lashes and eye material (ie make sure it's set to 1 not 0). Apologies if that's so obvious you've already done it. Do you have any reflection settings on the eye cornea? Usually I would have the cornea diffuse colour set to black, the transparency 1 (in P5/6 check the trans falloff and trans edge settings, too - set all to 1) then add a specular or trans map. The white eyes made me wonder if that's a reflection rather than a trans problem...though it's a seriously strong reflection if that's it!

Is this Jessi or some other character?

The settings are fine. I think it may be related to the "memory bug" because I had gotten that message, I stepped back on the render settings and then re-rendered.

If I close out of Poser, reload the .pz3, step back on the render settings and then re-render, the tmaps work fine.
Also interesting, in the Materials Room, the Poser Surface and the Node show solid colors. In this instance, the Poser Surface Root Node is all black, the Tmap node is all white.
Clicking in the area to load a new map, the correct Tmap shows.

Go figure. Images forthcoming.

face-off: That's V3 wearing RealSkin :)

I think it is the memory bug - I get something similar, where Vikki 2 loses her body texture. It's still listed on the material node, but simply won't show up when I render. Seems to happen after I get one of the "out of memory" messages. Most of the time, when I restart Poser and try it again it works.

OK, I've done this a few times.
Some additonal information.

The original .PZ3 was created in Poser 5.
The model has RealSkin shader information attached.
Oh, BTW, face_off its actually StephPetite wearing a V3 texture.(oops!)

We fired up Poser 6, loaded a .PZ3, deleted the loaded lights and selected a Poser 6 IBL AO lights setup. We try and render and we get the all too familiar attached image #1.

The render settings, right out of the box as it were.

After clearing the error, we still have our model loaded and we step back the render settings. One slide to the left to clear the texture filtering and reduce the Max Texture Size etc.

Just to check we look at the LCornea. It LOOKS ok....

Re-rendering at the LOWER settings had NO EFFECT. The girl was still a new life form. We shutdown and restarted Poser, and in Preview, set Full Textured option to see what was what. (I guess OpenGL is good for something. :) )

BEFORE we rendered and AFTER we deleted the original light setup and selected IBL AO (no other lights), we cranked DOWN the render settings (to the left one notch).

Then we RENDERED! Looks good. So until the "Memory Leak" gets plugged, and BEFORE you get that serious render going, REDUCE the render settings, keep your transparencies. The error must corrupt maps in memory because the TMaps get hosed when you check them.

Have you tried doing a "Reload Textures" in the Render menu?
