Subject: So few series at Renderosity

Othosmops ( ) posted Thu, 14 April 2005 at 10:31 AM · edited Mon, 05 August 2024 at 8:32 AM

Sorry, this is a story/sequential related topic but I significantly I did not find a story/sequential forum. That's why I send this posting to the community center.

I'm being posting a series for a while to the stories/sequential gallery and I often asked myself why this gallery is so empty. Every day hundreds of "naked girl with sword" or "naughty cute childish faery" pictures but almost no series.
I am a graphic novel freak and the lack of pictured stories here provoked me to post a teasing, thoughtful and possibly delectable series with a lot of sequels. Just to show that it's possible to do it. I knew, there are dangers. Creating series are expensive - lots of props are required, and lots of HD space too. It is hard to keep up an acceptable posting frequence - so many series already ended without an end in the artist's exhaustion. It is hard to keep up the posting frequence due to the weather (especially the weather of Texas, I learned ;-)), real life vicissitudes and the sinisterness of operating systems and render programs.
Forsooth, the dangers are frightening but the challenge lures and a large long enduring series will be an enrichment for the whole community. That's what I was thinking. And started the series.

I was goof and now I am wiser. Now I know a danger I overlooked, an unrecognable, treacherous danger that vitiates the whole effort of months within a blink of an eye. And now I belong to those miserable souls that dropped down, laying in the ditch and crying: "I'm half dead, kill me that I may rest in peace!"

You want to know this malignant but unsuspicious, downright nice looking danger? Obviously it becomes incubated when a likable moderator concurrs with the TOS and a teasing image of a/my series. Instantly the letter of the TOS or whatelse prompts the mod to be viewing things that I cannot see but that violate the TOS. And with the mod's magic light sword the image becomes desintegrated and the whole series perishes.
No explanations, no help, just a dimly indication of problems that simply do not exist in my view.

This is very sad and fretful and therefore I raise this memento: BEWARE OF POSTING SERIES!

Better you generally close this gallery genre. It is a dead born child.

Personally, I think Rendo needs to update their categories across the board, including the 'freestuff' area it's so outdated now. :) and ps: it's not wise to start another related TOS topic, it will only get locked. (my humble opinion)

Faeries again?

About stories: I'm one of the few. And I'm rather careful not to post anything that would possibly violate the TOS; having an image deleted indeed destroys the story and I don't want that to happen. A long time ago I was not sure whether an image I did for my Realms of Karmian series was OK with the TOS. So before I posted it I contacted a moderator. The team reviewed the image, concluded that it would violate the TOS as it was and suggested changes to make it TOS compatible. I followed their advice, the image is safe and the flow of the story is safe. So that's my advice: if not sure, contact a mod before posting. It will delay your post, but it's way better than a broken storyline. And please pick up your series again. Like you, I enjoy stories, and your story has been fun to follow. PS: I'm working on the next image for my series, but the shadows are troubling me big time....

a dumb question but why would a storyline violate the TOS?unless is was a faery or contained child nudity.

The faeries TOS is the latest revision, before there were many other revisions and of course the first TOS. I am working on the next revision, what can be?, maybe gays????

@Birddie:
Right now I got a more precise description where the TOS violating part of the image is: It is a view onto the back of an adult woman, and my render-programs (first Poser, then Vue) rendered what you can see in reality too.
Whatever it may be, the mod has seen "the inner portion of the vulva or vaginal area" (in my view it is just the rear part of this area, but I'm from Germany and don't know american technical terms very well. Probably people of the Middle West say "inner portion" when they mean "rear part").

So I have been allowed to repost it if I cover this part. However, dear mods (that's why I began this thread!), this picture is part of a story, and I have no clue why or how or with what this part should have been covered. Guess I must invoke the Big Black Shadow (I'd hate to mutilate Taika's sex, better paint it black... anyway, it is weird too).

@svdl: Really, I am close to leave Renderosity, and I am upset because I really tried hard not to violate the TOS, but they have seen "something" anyway.

Now it might be really the best if I'll send all half-way suspicious images to the mods first (sorry, while writing this I feel free like a novice of the Holy Inquisition), but I intend to post the complete series - uncensored version - to another place you surely know (but we don't tell where - this would violate the TOS too).

Photographers. They don't use meshes or texture packs and thus deprive the owners of Renderosity of their rightful income from the RMP.

You know what is right for you. I know what is right for me.

I hope fractals will be the last to be removed by the coming TOS revisions. I LOVE fractals! B-)

I believe we are working on getting the TOS translated to a few different languages so there is more understanding. German is included with that.As far as I know.

I've been posting all my Tarot cards to the sequential genre, although not many have noticed. It's not dead it's just in a coma, much like chivalry wink If you wanted to see a graphic novel, I've been doing some but I post most of those in the comics genre since it seemed more appropriate to them.

Only time will tell whatelse will be on the TOS hitlist.

@Othosmops: I know that other site you're speaking of. Some small sidelines of my story are posted there - they definitely would be over the borders of the TOS here. But since they're not essential for the story there's no problem.

:roll eyes: Faeries are not against the TOS. Naked children are against the TOS. Naked children are not faeries... no matter how much hot glue you use on the wings. Most faerie images over the past several hundred years have shown them with clothing and mature of years if diminuative in stature. As for the original complaint in this thread... the TOS quite clearly bans crotch shots... and I'm fairly certain that it has always banned hardcore pornography. You read and agreed to the TOS when you joined the site. Even if the story involved a gynecological exam, I doubt if it would be necessary to show a crotch shot. Carolly
