Now this is a sign that CP is getting acceptance.

Pollee ( ) posted Sat, 16 April 2005 at 3:41 PM

I won't upgrade. I'm waiting for Poser7 and some semi decent models that aren't included for a limited time but just come with the program. What is with all these gimmicks? You can't fool all of the people all of the time. Not bookmarked!

what happened to the rest of the clothing tutorial? It's not finished, is it?

Not sure I need a tut for this, but what the heck...I'll probably learn something anyway. :)

Hi Diana,

No, it is not finished.
I just like diversity .. you know variety is the spice that makes the world go crazy ... or something like that.

Clothing tutorial? ... We're just getting to the good part.

Stay tuned ... besides ... what will become of poor Pozella?

That's a pretty visible "Non bookmark" eh?

Geep, This is way beneath you. Unless there's some huge brand-spanking new techonology behind CP that will revolutionize the way we do things, I suggest you drop this. But, that's just me.

It should be "+++ DG#201 +++ Poser 6 +++ Page 1" And "before you can do anything much with the P6 characters you have to sign up for Content Paradox." Or: "Don't bother buying P6 if you don't want to sign up for Content Paradox."

And this differs from every other commercial site out there...uh...how?

This "Tut" smells an aweful lot like an ad. ("Thinking about Poser 6? Upgrade Today!")

And this differs from every other commercial site out there...uh...how? You're blackmailed into signing up for it if you want P6 to be all that CL advertises it to be. CL doesn't force you to sign up for RDNA, or Renderosity... Don't get me wrong, I've never used CP so have no opinion on it. It's Curious Labs I refuse to further support.

geep ( ) posted Sat, 16 April 2005 at 11:19 PM

Hi yp6,

You are more than welcome to name the tutorial ...

... if you create it.

Incidentally, both of your statements in post #9 are FALSE.

I was using Poser6 for a couple of weeks and had a lot of fun before I opened an account with Content Paradise.

I have an account with Content Paradise and have downloaded several high quality models but have not been required to (nor have I) spent any money.

Let me repeat that ... I have downloaded several quality items from Content Paradise but ... was not required to spend any money and ...

... I have not.

You are more than welcome to post your comments and/or questions ... but negative or false statements are not appreciated and Doc would appreciate it if you would refrain from posting them in the thread.

If you would like to flame me ... go ahead ... I have a very thick skin ... but please do it in an IM and not in the thread. Thank you.

It's really easy... if you don't like Curious Labs, don't buy from them. if you don't want to use Content Paradise, don't use it. if you don't want to learn something new, don't read the tutorial. and, if you would be so kind, let the rest of us see what the good doctor has to teach. Because a lot of us enjoy the pleasure of his company no matter what the topic.

geep ( ) posted Sat, 16 April 2005 at 11:28 PM

re:"This "Tut" smells an aweful lot like an ad."

Hi Jackson,

I can understand why you might feel that way.

However ...

Let me set the record straight.

I neither work for nor receive any type of compensation from Curious Labs or anyone else.

This "tut" is not intended to be an ad for Content Paradise.

It IS intended to explain (to those who might be interested) how to find your way around the website because there are some people who might appreciate knowing how to do this.

If I am wrong and I am wasting my time with this "tut," then I shall go back to attempting to rescue Pozella. <---(if that's possible)

yeah geep is cool i have learned a lot and am still learning more. you do what you want, when you want, where you want. it will benefit someone without a doubt, and more likely loads of us.

Eternl_Knight ( ) posted Sun, 17 April 2005 at 12:55 AM

I say just ignore them, Geep. I personally don't need the tutorial, but I can see how many others might. It's just the usual thing where, given an opportunity, someone will start throwing mud because they feel someone is giving credit to something they dislike. Here it's Curious Labs, other threads it is DAZ, other's Renderosity... the list oges on. As I said - it tends to be best just to ignore it.

hauksdottir ( ) posted Sun, 17 April 2005 at 3:16 AM

Considering that there were a few threads with intelligent, computer-literate people who wanted the bee being unable to figure out where to find it and where the download button was, this just might help some newbie who is too shy to ask those questions! Dr Geep may be responding to those of us who are more vocal, and who are relaxed enough to tease him, but part of his intended audience are the folks who really are just starting out, who opened the box and don't even know what all the tabs do, or where to start asking questions. With 300,000 members, you have to figure that there are LOTS of lurkers! I've already signed up for CP... but it IS possible that I'll learn something. Even if I don't, would I deny that possibility to another? Carolly

yp6 ( ) posted Sun, 17 April 2005 at 5:35 AM

Hi yp6, You are more than welcome to name the tutorial ... ... if you create it. My first instinct was that this tutorial was intended as sarcasm pointed at those of us who resent the Content Paradox requirement to get the P6 fixes. If that was not your intention, you have my sincerest apologies. Incidentally, both of your statements in post #9 are FALSE. I was using Poser6 for a couple of weeks and had a lot of fun before I opened an account with Content Paradise. Notice, I said "before you can do anything much with the P6 characters you have to sign up for Content Paradox." I never said the program wouldn't do anything without Content Paradox. if you don't like Curious Labs, don't buy from them. if you don't want to use Content Paradise, don't use it. Yup, I'll be doing neither, and will be returning P6 to CL.

geep ( ) posted Sun, 17 April 2005 at 7:21 AM

Hi yp6,

Apology accepted and I am sorry that you won't be joining us in P6 land. ;=[

We're going to have a lot of fun. ;=]

As for the update ... for some reason, Curious Labs(CL) decided to use Content Paradise(CP) as the method of delivering the update ... perhaps because it was an update for the characters. (and not the program, per se)

I expect that the Service Release (SR - when ready) for P6 will be available on CL's website and not CP.

Hi Porthos, It was earlier ... but, at less than $2 ... it's still a "smokin'" deal, don't you think? Freebies are only there for a limited time ... then they change. It's a good idea to check on a regular basis. cheers, dr geep ;=]

Thank you for this. I find some sites very confusing to maneuver around, that site is one of them. I think it took me 1/2 an hour to find that spider when it was talked about in another thread. I didn't want it, but was curious about what it looked like. Some sites make getting around way too complicated!!!
