Doc, this is where I've gotten so far with my grandparents house. It was built in 1920 and was originally only 3 rooms.

I started adding some studs here and figuring where to put the windows. Also worked on the kitchen tile floor.

Here I;ve added the other 2 rooms and worked on the making the windows and after taking measurement, putting them where they should be.

ExistentialDisorder, Yep, it's all being done in Poser. And, Doc's tuts have been a wonderful help in doing it. Oh, and by the way, everytime I have a problem or can't figure out how to so something, I'll ask Doc and he has the answer. These buildings I've been doing are a tribute to my grandparents as they are the buildings that they spent their entire life in when they got married and raised 6 kids in. Some of the other ones I've done are in my gallery...the smokehouse, barn, 3 bay garage, and chicken coop.

very cool. Are they scaled for being inhabited by poser people? I need to build a castle and an extremely elaborate masonry mansion with underground passages at a scale that is useable with poser folks, but I have not begun to tackle that project. E.D.

Yeah, they are to scale. I started following geep's tutorials and using his DGS (Doc Geep's Scale)and I'd be lost without it.

OK, using Doc's double hung window tutorial, I've had to make 3 different sizes of windows. Most of the windows in the house are like the one on the right. The center window is only in the living room.

In case anyone didn't catch it, there was an error with that center window in the previous image. The top sash was behind the bottom sash.....good way to get water leakage when it rains. I've got that fixed now.

Looks great so far. Great work! I hope the house has a barn and a chicken coup out back to.

Now I think of it that reminds me of childhood. When I was a kid I had to go get the eggs in the chicken coup and the stupid chickens sometimes would poop on the eggs! I think it was their way of protesting. Hehehehe.... :)

mylemonblue, Well, actually there is a barn, and a checken coop, smoke house, and 3 bay garage. I started with the "Smokehouse" Then progressed to the "Barn" The "Garage" And the "Chicken Coop"

Yikes. The realism is amazing. Everything looks perfectly sized and proportioned too. With some farm equipment and animals this would look so right out of reality. I'm thinking right out of northernish Arizona. Maybe the St.Johns area? :)

Forgive me for butting in, but I know where that is...sort of. I used to go to a Revolutionary War event in that area (I think) at House in the Horseshoe. Pretty country out in there. Having grown up in Eastern TN, I've seen billions of buildings like you're doing and I must say, you've nailed them cold! Looking forward to more.

It's coming along slowly. Had to do a change to the right side rooms as I noticed that first addition my grandparents made didn't have the ceiling at the same level as the original 3 rooms.

You are becoming a Master Carpenter (in Poser) my friend ... your work is awesome.

Don't get frustrated ... take a break when you need to and just walk away and do something else for a while ... then "hit it" again with a fresh spirit and renewed energy!

Hey Doc, That's exactly what I've been doing. It gets on my nerves sometimes after I've been working on something for awhile and definately have to take a break or else I'd go cross-eyed...LOL

Making a little more progress. Got more of the framing done. Still a long way to go. The 3 rooms on the left were the original house. The section of the right was added later but no one that's still living seems to know when. All the old photos my mom has shows the added section. She was in her teens then so I'm figuring it was added sometime in the late 30's or early 40's...maybe earlier as my grandparents had 5 kids that were raised in this house.
