I shot my first wedding yesterday, which shot (if any) do you prefer? The first one is in color...

#1................

I would go with #1 also but I would tone down those nail tips. She could put na eye out with those and that is just from the brightness! Honestly, they did draw my eye away fromt he rings which should be the center of attention (not necessarily center of the image). Just my humble opinion. Magick Michael

I definitely prefer the second (#2) one but those nails....yuk! Too bright for sure and definitely distracting!

#3, and yes, again with the nails. I would B&W them too, and the watch. Keep the focus on the rings and the flowers.

cynlee ( ) posted Mon, 18 April 2005 at 10:33 AM

i concur with 2pynts, leave the watch, tone down the nails, maybe even tighten the crop more & congrats on the wedding nilla! :]

#2 You took a great photo but her nails just make it difficult to look at anything else. not your fault. any way to make her nail tips less bright? also, what are those dark black lines on her nails? is that some kind of fancy nail thing? it makes her fingernails look dirty. i wonder if that could be toned done too? huge congrats on your wedding!

I really like your selective coloring ones Brenda, but imho in this (for wedding pictures) the first one might be the one to go for. Maybe if you'd desaturate everyting except the rings... see the pic, maybe it looks stupid, you decide ;o) Btw. you did really good here !! Awesome wedding shot !! Hugs, Jeroen

Hmmm food for thought here, I was looking at the prints and the nails in black and white look dirty, that I noticed this morning as I looked at the proofs, over a cup of coffee, that is why I prefer numbers 1 and 3, my friend here liked the one with the one nail in color... See I know this person and she isn't one to wear makeup or have her nails done and she was so proud of having her nails done she even had me take a picture of her toes later on during the reception (see attached image!) I was like you want me to do what??? So I was thinking number three with the white on the tips of the french manicure toned a bit!

Nilla ( ) posted Mon, 18 April 2005 at 5:26 PM

Oh yeah and I really like what you did Jeroen! The white and the purple line that looks black in B & W, have toned down nicely! Exactly how did you do that? Brenda :)

Enmos ( ) posted Mon, 18 April 2005 at 5:30 PM

Uhm lol i did a complete desaturation, so actually its is b/w :o) Except for the rings. I just took your image (a colorworked one) and selected everything that still had color, except the rings, and desaturated. Then i put the saturation up a bit to let the rings stand out better :o) Hugs, Jeroen

Id go with the one with selective colouring (kinda hooked on that now, lol) but i wouldnt have the nails coloured though. Aint it fun by the way, playing around like that. #:O)

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?
