For those of you waiting on Edith, she's finally made it into the MP. She's looking gorgeous and ready to be introduced to your Poser family. All she wants now is a man in her life and he's being worked on.

Check her out!!

They wouldn't be popular, but I'd love to see some characters that are more mature than the usual 20-30 year old figures around here, and younger than Edith. Women/men in their 40's and 50's who haven't had plastic surgery, in other words. But I'm the only who would buy such textures, alas.

Thanks Xeno...not your type I don't think hehehe.... Dialyn, I don't know hmmm. I got a terrific response when I said I was going to create her and posted a WIP. So we'll see. "Wallace" is a bit older I think than the usual male and I'm going to make an older still male to go with Edith and I hope folks will buy him LOL. If they prove to be popular, I'll make more. They're a bit of a challenge but I enjoy doing them and it's nice to do something a bit different :) Time will tell.

Oh I'm sorry if I confused you. Wallace is already in my store, the "older guy" doesn't have a name yet ...poor sod LOL .

Don't worry.....I'll buy characters like this one. She's in my cart, and she's one of the models that I am most likely to purchase when I make my monthly buy-out decisions in another week or two.

While it's true that most of my V3/SP character set purchases fall into a different category -- it's also true that scenes need to have variety in them. We don't live in a soap opera world, where everyone is 25 and beautiful -- although many people are. If one likes to create images that have at least a hint of reality about them, then figures like this can help to round things out nicely.

Admittedly, scenes that feature beauty-only might get more hits. But I like for my images to be mixed -- just like in real life.

In the real world: we have tall people, short people, skinny people, not-so-attractive people, beauty queens, handsome hunks, fat slobs, nerds, and athletes. And everything in between.

Beautiful people are real. So are "ordinary" people. The world contains both kinds. So I like to use both kinds in images.

Characters like this one are just right for many purposes.

Yes.....she's an interesting character. And one that I'll buy. I recommend that others do so, too.

Thank you my friend. What I meant was, she might be a little old for you in terms of years... :) I absolutely agree and that was what got me started on her really. She's different and how boring it would be if we were all the same. I want to have a variety of characters in different age groups and various ethnicities for the very reasons that you mention and because each one is a different challenge, it keeps me fresh and enthusiastic. Good for me and good for my customers :) Thanks again... hugs

Older people are probably more useful than children in filling out scenes: teachers, bosses, wizards, crusty mechanics and seadogs....

dialyn ( ) posted Tue, 19 April 2005 at 11:40 AM

It's pretty sad how small we have made our creative world. Real life has amazing faces. Very few of us take the time to bring that reality into graphics to enrich the stories we have to tell.

KymJ ( ) posted Tue, 19 April 2005 at 11:52 AM

I agree dialyn and the more I get into creating, particularly the older characters, the more I find myself really taking notice of people facial features. They're fascinating and I often wonder what these older folks would think if they saw what we do with their photographs LOL. That they allow themselves to photographed so intimately for our creativity is wonderful and my hat is off to them for their sheer guts ...nobody would be taking pics of me I can tell ya LOL but I get so wrapped up in what I am doing that they really do become friends. Xenophonz put it so well and there is a neverending supply of ideas out there because everyone is so very different. I had to laugh the other day. I was gazing at my father in law's face without trying to "look" like I was studying it too closely. He looked at me and said .."yes ? what are you lookin' at ? " LOL ...I said ..."ya know, you have the most wonderful skin texture" ...gawd! I thought he was gonna die laffing..."girl it's just an ole face" is all he said hahaha... hugs
