Hi everybody,

After a long time working on this, and many delays, I have finally finished my new character. She is called Eszter and is (I hope) the most expressive and realistic character yet released for Poser :)

The character consists of the head geometry (all new, not based on the Victoria mesh), and eyes. The head along with eyes are attached as a prop to Victorias head. Don't worry, you won't have to do this yourself, it's all ready to go with the cr2 included. With this special release I am also making the following offer:

First, she is for sale at 30% off until the end of april, and second, the first 100 customers to buy Eszter will receive for FREE 1 item of their choosing from my store (DigiCalimero) on Polymage! So take advantage now, it's really worth it.

In about 2 weeks I will also release a comprehensive morph pack for her which will be cheap, around 8 dollars.

Shahara, a talented texture artist is also making a set of textures specially for Eszter. Check out his store here at RR, he does great work.

Not all expressions are shown in the following pics.

OK,I bought her >^_^< I'mvery impressed with her expressiveness, andthe ability to use my existing V3 clothing with her. Her mouth and teeth look superior to V3, as does her tongue. Her ears seem a little off to me but I can't put my finger on it. same with her nose, but I can morph either to suit my own tastes. Will she accept V3 Mapping? I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with her..I still can't get over the quality of her mouth..gonna go play now!

Interesting. And a good idea. Definitely worth a look. Perhaps higher praise to come later.........

Momcat, thanks! I forgot to write on her product page that you can send an email to store@polymage.com with your name, order number and the item from my store you would like :) About V3 mapping, it is my intention to make a compatible version, but first I need to get confirmation from DAZ that there won't be any license issues etc....would not like to do all the work for nothing.

I'm very impressed by her. Her expressions look amazing! The facial structure is great and she has that "something special" about her! I'm off to polymage to have a better look. Great work and I think this has a lot of potential for some great stuff!

Well she is just gorgeous. Had to snap her up :) What were the images wit hthe blue background rendered in?

DigiCalimero ( ) posted Mon, 18 April 2005 at 9:30 PM

Thank you very much! I hope to see your images soon :) The ones with the blue background where rendered with Mentalray. Honestly though I'm not too happy with them, some areas like the eyes, lips and tongue look very good, but I think the skin looks too bland...I tried using the new fastscatter in P6 but it just gave me too much trouble together with IBL, weird shadows. So I gave up on it and just rendered the first set of images you see with ambient occlusion and IBL. Btw, I plan to also make a hair which will fit Eszter, and ofcourse Victoria and Elle. It will be a nice hair... ;)

Eszter's very nice .... .... however, I would have liked to see more products for the much-neglected Elle.

Well I took the London head texture(v3) and pieced it onto ESZTER head, and except for me messing up the eyebrows (to big) It's easy to put your favorite head texture on her. If you look at the neck, that is the only place you have to touch up, which I didn't do. Looking forward to seeing what type of morphs you are working on for her :)

pokeydots, how did you "piece" the v3 texture onto Eszter's head ? i.e. what do you mean by this ? regards, Andrew

Andrew, In the ESZTER texture folder there is a uv map for Eszter, I just opened a V3 Head texture in PSP (duplicate it so you don't ruin the original!) Then use the copy and make selection of lips etc, and paste them all on new layers in psp, and move them aroun and size them to fit over the template. Then I use the clone tool to fill in where needed ;o) Hope this helps! Here is A3's Bambi texture on her, with 3Dreams hair. She makes a great redhead! lol

Looks good, but the process sounds terrifying.

pokeydots ( ) posted Tue, 19 April 2005 at 6:46 AM

lol Actually the pieces fit pretty good! It only took about 15 minutes for each texture ;o)

Don't worry mathman, I'll make an version also compatible with Victoria's UV's, just waiting for a reply from Daz. Although Eszter's UV map has less stretching than Victoria's uv's, around the nose, and tip of nose especially. Besides she already comes with two color maps, one natural, one makeup. It is not inconceivable either for a 3D artist or hobbyist to try and add a few touches here and there to an existing color map. There's only so much I can include for 15 dollars...
