Great idea. Maybe some "still life with a blender"? :P Or, more seriously, really something you can see at home and what can bring your imagination far far away. People have lots of such objects in their homes... Sorry for descriptive title, I don`t know English good enough to find a right word.

I was thinking the same thing about a stil life with a blender! The other idea sounds good too, do you mean like mementoes? memento n. pl. mementos or mementoes A reminder of the past; a keepsake. A blender monthly challenge is a great idea, although I'm notoriously bad about not being able to finish an image in a month.

"Still life with a Blender" LOL...too funny, but may be just the right place to start :D I do like the sound of mementos, too. I'm setting up the Challenge page, and should start it up by Sunday night. Till then, let me know if there are any other suggestions. Nick

Ok, got caught up with some things :S I'll be starting the Challenge Monday night/Tuesday morning. How does "Still life with a Blender (or other small appliances)" sound? :D

Excellent! I just started making an image with some forks:P Regarding mementoes, I meant not only thing that recall some nice memories but also sth that creates new ideas or makes you break the borders. The classical example of such a thing: binoculars on a map. But I meant sth less unusual itself, like a blade of grass, or... :)

P. S. Where the challenge page will be displayed? Will it be just a thread of this forum?

P. S. to haloedrain: I usually make a reasonable image in several months even using more or less known app [Urchin took almost half a year]. I think making the still life image with Blender will be a true challenge for me! ;)

Still no Blender Gallery?

The Challenge will be the standard Renderosity Challenge/contest set-up. It won't be in a thread. My goal is to get enough interest, show off what Blender is capable of, and get a gallery started soon, too. I had another idea for a future thing.... I once saw a "Pass the .blend" contest somewhere, but now can't remember where (it was a loooong while ago on another site). I thought that would be a neat thing to do here as well. That would be where someone provides a starting .blend file, and then others go off that, and it keeps building... Trying to figure out the best way to do that yet...
