Subject: Dynamic Clothing - nothing works.

Ok either I'm missing something or just completely lost with dynamic clothing. I have a whole bunch of dynamic clothing i would like to use but when I go and attach it to a figure then "strike the pose" I want, the clothing does not move with the pose. I can get the clothing attached to the figure but thats it. I tried running the simulations but that doesn't work either. Is my poser FUped? or is it me? Major help is needed. Please check out my gallery too. If I can get the dynamic clothing to work then the pictures will be awesome. -BobNevin

It's you. :-)

Dynamic clothing doesn't work like conforming clothing. You have to run a little animation to use it.

See the tutorials at PoserFashion.net. There are even free dynamic dresses there to practice with. Just download a dress, and it comes with detailed instructions on how to use it.

Thanks I'll see if that can work. Posing them with lots of polygong can be a pain but its worthit because of the realism. -Bob

Try that link.

I've tried to use Dynamic clothing and personally I think that one has to jump through way too many hoops to get it to work properly. So, in my frustration I'm very, very sorry I bought one today! ...and no, I will not stick it out in the cloth room to get the damn thing to work. Give me conforming clothes anytime!!

It seems very difficult when you first start. After you've done it a couple of times, though, you get the hang of it, and it's not that hard. For certain situations, such as fitting the clothing to morphed characters, it's less hoops to jump through. No messing with the Tailor, no fiddling with magnets.

But there's no need to buy dynamic clothing to try it. There's tons of free clothing. Planit3D, PoserFashion.net, and here in Rosity free stuff.

I just sent CL a request regarding Presets for the Clothing Room for the basic fabrics (wool, leather, denim, suede, spandex) we'll see what their answer will be! ;)

Someone at RDNA tried posting some, but presets don't really work. Dynamic cloth meshes vary a lot - high-res, low-res, triangular polys, square polys, etc. The ideal "silk" or "canvas" preset for one will not necessarily work on another.

Well after a couple hours of going through the tutes I finally made it work. Thanks! -Bob

I did a script to apply presets to Dynamic Cloth (see linked thread).
