Subject: Tom Cruise, anybody? (Daz3D's "Last Hiro")

Well, if this isn't a homage to Tom Cruise in "The Last Samurai", I don't know what is. :) Interesting character - with the nose to boot.

Found the link. Slight resemblance, but not that much really. Face is too chizelled and the eyes are definitely off.

Well, I wasn't saying this was the quintessential looking Tom Cruise, but definitely going for "The Last Samurai" look. :)

Hunter looks very like Tom Cruise, particularly the "Tom Cruise as The Vampire Lestat" morph and texture. (Although I note that they've removed one of the popup images that showed him in closeup with the teeth and all).

Hey, face_off. :-) Is that morph for the head custom or is it all dial twists? Just wondering. bonni

No dial twists involved. From memory, you don't need the David head morph pack. It's all ZBrush2 magic. Notice his nose is deliberately a touch bent!

Yeah, I noticed the nose, particularly. It's a pretty good likeness. :) bonni

When I look at the promos of the Last Hiro, I think more of Bruce Willis with a more chiselled look and long hair than Tom Cruise. Hunter is definitely Cruise.

Actually the lips and cheedks are totally off. Takes more than a large nose to make a Tom Cruise....lol Marque

Can you say cheeks? Sheeeesh need more coffee. heh Marque

The eyebrows would need work too, the two things I like best about him are the smile and the eyebrows. Marque

OH!!!

runs to DAZ

pants Ok, got it! :) Thanks! I loved that image in the gallery.

Anyone know of some nice vampire like clothing for D3? I've been buying for M3.

I didn't care much for Tom Cruise when he was younger, but like Richard Gere, he gets better with age. Which reminds me, and chance of a Richard Gere semi-look-a-like? ;) Message edited on: 04/21/2005 12:06

actually the Last Hiro one reminded me a bit more of Vigo ..its those cheekbones

AntoniaTiger ( ) posted Thu, 21 April 2005 at 12:45 PM

Did somebody mention Vigo? (Swoons into wet furry puddle)

kuroyume0161 ( ) posted Thu, 21 April 2005 at 2:01 PM

I'll go with Vigo and raise you a... ;) I didn't say it was a ringer for T.C., only a homage to the character from "The Last Samurai" played by T.C. - "Last Hiro" - get it? ;0) And yes, he had long hair and a fuzzy face in that movie.

Hey face_off what hair is that? It looks Great! Isn't anybody gonna yank that copyrighted pic posted here? They seem to jump on it in other posts..

JOE LE GECKO ( ) posted Thu, 21 April 2005 at 2:20 PM

Can't think of anyone else but the Prince of Persia ( Warrior Within version ) when looking at the last hiro... :)

Marque ( ) posted Thu, 21 April 2005 at 2:23 PM

If you mean the pic I posted not a problem will do it myself. Marque

Aureeanna - that hair is the Koz All Back Style with a very simple morph applied. You should be able to do it with magnets.....

Don't remove it on my account, cause I don't have a problem with it or any others that get posted. I get sick of people jumping at it when they get posted and then on other posts they don't say a word. Personally, I wish they'd lighten up on all of it...we got more important things to police... Thanks face_off!! Great render...:>)

Vampire Clothes - Either "SADE" by Wusamah/Uzilite at Daz or Poserstyle Wolfpact gear (put through clothes converter or similar - apparently M1/M2 stuff fit to M3 pretty easily via CC) or Daz M3 Pirate stuff with a bit of re-texturing cheers

Don't confuse the issue with your logic!!!!! Hmmm..David vampy stuff... Just ask Morris what he used in his Hunter/Lestat image...not the bare chested one - the close-up one: Vamp David seems to be wearing period clothing of some kind....

elizabyte ( ) posted Fri, 22 April 2005 at 9:44 AM

Don't confuse the issue with your logic!!!!! Sorry. I lost control of myself for a moment. I'll try not to let it happen again. ;-) It might be possible to do something good with the Victorian type clothes at DAZ, especially if you added the cloak. And yes, the closeup of the David as Tom Cruise as the Vampire Lestat does appear to be wearing period clothes. Might a magnetted or tweaked version of the collar thingy with the M3 poet set? Just a thought. bonni
