very cool. if i did sci-fi type renders I'd snatch this one but right now i dont.
reminds me. did you know that the original battlestar galactica was sued by lucas for being too much like star wars? it caused them to go bankrupt. i'm not sure if lucas actually won the case tho. heh. (yet i wonder where lucas got the idea for the spice mines of kessel... hmm, dune, perhaps? which is older than star wars by a few years...)

Yep, I knew Lucas tried to sue over BSG, but I think it was eventually thrown out. Lucas couldn't copyright lasers and explosions and spaceships. And I seriously doubt he would have pressed the issue all the way to court since he lifted EXACT dialog (and fighter plane dogfighting) from earlier WWI and WWII movies. Lucas should consdier himself lucky those producers didn't sue him for "sampling" their work. Nowadays, rappers are sued for even sampling a 1/2 second of a previous song! Anyway, this Viper is from the new Sci-Fi Channel series. The first airing was in December 2003, in a 2 part, 2 hour miniseries. NBC showed a chopped version in a 1 night, 3 hour movie. The full series actually started in Fall 2004 in the UK and Canada, but didn't air in the US until January 2005 (again on the Sci-Fi channel). Season 2 is due to start in July. --John

Now what would be cool are some characters to match the current set (Adama, Apollo, Starbuck, Boomer ... drool :), Number Six). Most of the women are hot - except Mrs. Tigh and Madam President ;). Nicer yet would be uniforms? So many things to do and too busy programming...

Are you making fun of Hilly? Are ya!? ;) Actually, I like the new Starbuck - in many ways. ;) She is a good choice. For a promo they had the original Starbuck (Dirk Benedict) and the new Starbuck (Katee Backhoff) photographed in a ... Starbucks! Oooh, the genius! ;0) Roslin's not my type.

Yes, of course there's a cockpit... with 2 display screens (with graphics) and a two fightsticks. Here's all you need to know about the new Battlestar Galactica series. :) (The new season officially starts July 15.) And while you're on the scifi.com's site, go to the main page to see a sneak peak of Hayden Christensen in the Darth Vader armor! (The bottom Flash ad promoting the latest issue of SciFi's magazine, which features articles on Episode III, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and the final episode of Enterprise). --John

Now available (for free) at Vanishing Point: the Colonial Viper MK2 (from the 2003/ 2005 *Battlestar Galactica* series). Original Lightwave model by Sean Kennedy; Poser conversion by me (converted with permission). Please note that this model uses advanced surface texturing, amd is meant for use in Poser 5 and 6. It may work in Poser 4, but it won't look very good. --JohnVanishingPoint... Advanced 3D Modeling Solutions
