Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 25 9:50 pm)
FYI: "Hyper Threading" must have programs written for it to take advantage of it just like a dual processor set up - I don't think it would help you at all in Poser. You are still using system resources while you render it you launch another application; in fact, most higher end PCs can run other programs in the background while rendering.
You can do other things while rendering, but you're taking a chance. It's really glitchy, slow, and unstable. Poser will often lock up, unless it's a really simple render.
No so with dual processors, real or virtual. It's very stable, if slower.
At least, earlier versions of Poser are slower with hyperthreading. (Because they aren't written to take advantage of hyperthreading.) Poser 6 is supposedly not slower. It's not faster, either, but it's not slower.

Does anyone know how or if Poser support dual core CPUs ? I saw some benchmarks (u can check it here http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2397&p=19) with new AMD64 dual core cpu and results are impressing - rendering with 3dmax is almost twice as fast,so I was wondering if it's also possible with Poser.
