Subject: Where to check to see if a product name has been officially trademarked?

As stated above. Is there a legal/government site where one can check to see if a product name has been trademarked etc. TIA

The hotlink above will take you to the US Patent & Trademark Office website. They maintain a publicly searchable database of "live" and "dead" trademarks named TESS (Trademark Electronic Search System)

Note that the specific list applies only to federal trademarks, not to localities, which also have the capability (inclusive of city, county, and state, depending on the location) of providing trademarks that are honored under the same law.

I hope that it's nothing like doing a patent search.....a patent search requires a lawyer and many 1,000's of dollars to accomplish. It's not easy to afford for an "in-my-garage" type of inventor.

I found what I was looking for...and the name has been registered....
