Subject: Why? ....... is it just me?

When I go to the Writer's gallery I only see three pages. When I'm in the Poser gallery there's 1-166 pages that I can scroll to. Why is that? Surely, there are more postings in the Writers gallery than just those three pages. How are we suppose to access those postings other than going to our favorite artist's galleries? Why should we have to do it that way? Why isn't everything being showcased? What if members from other galleries browse through the writer's gallery and see only 3 pages ....than they are missing out on all our older postings. Is it just me? do you guys see more pages...

No its not just you Leah, I have notice this. But I have never know why.

The reason only 3 pages are showing is because it is looking at the "What's New" which only shows items entered for the last 15 days. To see more entries, if you click on Archives above the topic selection in the Galleries, you can choose a month, or even a full year and look back through everything for a certain topic. Hope that helps. Diana Writers Mod

Diana, thank you for your quick response. Please understand that I'm not trying to be difficult....but why are the other pages archived? Why is the poser and photography gallery showing 100+ pages when they are not all new postings? The writer's gallery is small to begin with, there's not much activity here as it is in the poser or photography galleries which makes me want to showcase it even more. I want people to be able to browse through all our postings and be inspired or incense or whatever from it. It feels to me like our work is being hidden...or swept under the rug. I'm sorry but if I din't know who Shadowmoney and Tallpockets are have never read their wonderful postings before....how am I suppose to know to go and search for them in the archives? How can the past postings be unarchived? is it even possible...if not going forward can all the postings stay in the main gallery?

The reason that the poser gallery and some of the other galleries have so many pages is because they have that many more images being posted in that 15 day time frame. That 15 days on the What's new section is like that for every gallery. Smaller galleries that don't get as much posted to them will have a smaller page count. I don't think things can be altered because all of the galleries are set up the same way. It's a system wide thing. Some topic galleries have one page, or even no pages because nothing has been posted in the last 15 days. The writers gallery and forum is growing, and I am glad for that and hope that we continue to grow. The archives are easily accessible, and if someone wants to look back through, say all of March's uploads or even all of 2005 thus far they can. I don't think anyone is being swept under the rug. If our what's new was for 5 days, and the poser gallery was for 15, then I could understand that. But, if I post an image to the poser or photography gallery, it's still only in the what's new for 15 days, it's just mixed in with 10 times the amount of other postings. I still would have to go to the archives if I wanted to see postings from say Februrary. Diana

Diana, Thank you for the explanation. I didn't know about the 15 day thing. I still don't like it but it makes sense to me now. I guess this means we'll just have to generate more activity in the writer's gallery. :) Thanks again, have a great day, Leah
