Subject: 1st try with the remote flash

Seeings how I finally got this remote speedlight working,thought I'd show the 1st image I tried. Nikon D70 18-70 F/3.5-4.5G Focal Length 46mm Exp Mode Manual 1/100 sec-F4.5 ISO200 ---any tips on settings would be appreciated as I am not yet in the know of indoor flash shots. Not that I have'nt done them,but it's a hit and miss situation for me

Ah glad you got it going Doug.. Part of the art of good flash photography is that it does not look like it!! Bravo this is excellent

Looks good to me - very effective use of light and shadow :)

I'm glad to see you got it working. A real pain, huh? I really love this oriental still life. The lighting is a bit warm but it works for this image. Also, did you have a reflector on the left side. That might have modeled the figure a bit more and helped it pop out of the background...but I have a feeling you didn't want that.

sigh Don't you just hate it when people post a great picture and say they think it's naff?!? grrrr.... lol I like this as it is - did you deliberately place the flash to the side of her umbrella as if she was actually using it as a parasol? That little touch really makes the image, imo.. (",)

It's an excellent image. Yes, the point of her holding the umbrella towards the light is great. But, this is coming from the 3D side... :-) Have you considered increasing the ambient light a tiny little bit by putting a very weak bulb or something on the left side?

Ooooooh! No advice from me for sure! This is perfect IMHO!! The lighting is absolutely superb! Yep!!
