I haven't as of yet heard back from Miden1138,.......so when I do I'll know more about how I'm getting there,...............but as of right now, I'll be coming with him and his wife (he lives about 3 miles from me here in Winchester). If he can't make it, I'll be coming by train or bus. I'll let you know, in a couple of days.

Fran, I've met with 3 Brycer's last summer in the UK. It was such a fantastic experience. I'll be traveling there again late August or Early September as long as all goes well. I wouldn't mind doing it again. So you guys/gals from the UK start thinking about a good central location :) I'm quite fond of the Cotswalds.
'I'm quite fond of the Cotswalds.' I'm quite fond of Mars..... Glad you're coming over here again, Ang! I hope we're on your visit list. I'm up for this UK get-together....

Oh yeah. Nice countryside - definitely no LONDON! I'm up for that. Early September sounds just fine for me. Fran

With the short time left to the 16th, almost in countdown mode, we still havent hammered out concrete plans as to what to do, where were meeting and at what time. In prior posts Ive offered tentative places to visit with some detail of proximity to each other and asked for alternatives and suggestions. Aside from Ang, I havent heard from anyone else. Without having a set plan, there is no way to offer a strategic local to use as a meeting hub for us to get together in the event that we cant meet upon your arrival to New York or we get separated nor at what time to meet there. Also, if you IM me your email addy I would send you my cell phone and home numbers to use as communication links in case unforeseen problems develop. So come on guys, lets get it together. Hoping to hear from you soon.
ROFLMAO! Catlin, I'll personally meet you up in Scotland and bring you to the Cotswalds for a get together :-D. I'm hoping to get to Scotland to see the Roslyn(sp?) church. The one in the book 'The Da Vinci Code'. I just have to work out the logistics. Hope you're doing well, haven't seen you posting here in a while. Hopefully, Bryster and his wife can meet too. I don't know if I can get to Wales on my next trip. Not even sure I can make it to Scotland, but that church looks so intriguing. Hugs, Angela
I'd suggest Stone Henge, but you have to pay to get in.....;-(

And you can't touch the stones - it's a shame. Preserves them though... (sigh)

Preserves them though... These stones are made of granite and have been sitting there for about 5000 years...What's to preserve?

You would have thought that, but that's what English Heritage... or whoever, have said... I think (sudden frown) There WAS a time when the whole monument was barricaded off, maybe they are a bit less paranoid about it now? I thought I'd seen recent images of ...um... 'druids' wandering about in there, but I just thought you needed special permission to get that close? No?

Druids get a special license to do their thing at Stonehenge during the summer solstice. The heritage people have stolen so much from us. They're just a money making machine. There's even a plan to dig a tunnel under stonehenge to take the traffic so that the whole site is returned to its 'natural' setting. Which means that you won't be able to get close to the henge by car. No more walking up to the fence and taking your own photos for free.

Over here it's the "Historic Preservation Society",......Living in the historic district of Old Town Winchester every third house is an historic property,......not only can they tell you what you can and can't do to the outside of your house,.....they have some control over the interior as well. Glad we live in one of the few non-historic structures(built in 1986) in Old Town.

Sackrat: There's a village over here where one guy painted his house a really bold colour and the coucil told him to change it. He told them to get stuffed and the rest of the village painted their houses bold/bright colours too!

TheBryster, Oh wow, I hadn't heard of that - where was it? Are the houses STILL bright? That'd be great. (chortle)

Lovely. Well, not lovely but good for them, and why not if they like it that way? Flamin' bureaucrats! It's not as if they're damaging the fabric of the buildings, quite the reverse! Rock on!

Hi Ang.........8) I've just started reading 'The Da Vinci Code'. My sister in law read it then told me it was a must read. So I've had it since the weekend but it's just so hard to get my head around anything at the moment 'cos of studying. Ho Hum! Anyhoo, I'm really hoping you can make it over this summer, we'll try and get the sun to shine a little bit more than it did on your last visit. 8) Catlin

Hi guys, Regarding the meeting of brycers in NYC on May 14th: Who do we have going? Where & when are we meeting? So far I'm getting off the bus around 10am that morning. It'll be great meeting other brycers in person! Madmax? Boomer? are you guys in? Sackrat? Miden? Anyone else? Its probably best not to air all the details here, Best to IM Quest since he knows his way around town. Or me and I can relay the info on. :-D It's only 16 days away!!!! ps Spouses, significant others etc are welcome too. Angela (really I don't bite)
