Subject: Using Pro Pack and Lightwave for high-res renders...

I've long been a fan of Lightwave for its raw power and incredible rendering capabilities, but am admitedly discouraged by its non-Windows interface and the large amount of work it takes to set up even a simple scene. I need to do some images for publication (Cowboys for the cover of a new game coming out in December) and am hoping to set the basics of the scene up in Poser 4 and then do the final, high-resolution (5250 x 3375 pixels to create a 17 x 11 inch cover at 300 dpi, plus a little more for the bleed) image in Lightwave 6. My question is this: has anyone done anything like this, yet? Does the transfer live up to the hype? I'm also worried about the size of the figure texture maps used in Poser. Do they HAVE to be 1024 x 768 (which is what the tutorials and books recommend), or can I double them to take advantage of the increased resolution planned for the final image? I'd love to hear from anyone working with the Pro Pack and Lightwave. --------- Mike Mitchell Houston, Texas PS: I've cross posted this in the Lightwave Forum.

Mike, We tested Pro Pack's Lightwave plug-in with a variety of non standard models and textures, including a number of high resolution Victoria and Micheal models/textures that were far larger than the standard Poser 4 textures. These worked great in Lightwave. For clarity, animated figures in Poser scenes are also animated when they are brought into Lightwave. This is identical to how the Pro Pack - 3DS Max plug-in works.
