Well.. still downloading hte content stuff, but up to now the only thing I'm slightly impressed about is the render engine. It now takes about 6 passes, I think 2 anti-aliases... the Create folders are all messed-up, with a few default preset additions (skies for instance are just as unusable/unrealistic)... but overall okay. I'll come back with a more detailed review later =)

oh and even for this scene my computer was deathkneeled during the last AA pass. Have to admit though, that doesn't look like a default Bryce scene. even if it is the infamous sphere over water.

same thing with b5. took about 20% more time. don't have time now to do some timed test renders. drac

Rofl...a "classic" scene.

The content stuff is better than what installs with it, imo.

Gonna catch some sleep, I await your possibly scathing reviews and bug-catching!

How do you like how the new mat preset library is set up to work?

Keep the reviews coming. Those of us who are holding back on the upgrade are curious.

Drac: Did you have the sun in a slightly different place in each render (see reflection) or did 5.5 do that?

That's an awesome image. People would pay money for that. I know as people have paid me for this image.
