Subject: rendering resolution issues...

Yeah, me again. I've tried to render out a picture to disk at a dpi setting of 300. But whenever it's done rendering it turns out to have a 72dpi! Any suggestions? I know I could render it out at a larger size than I need, then size it down, but that increases my render times.

Look in the backroom under 'Printing' or do a search in the forum for 'print' - this has been discussed several times already. I am sure your will find the explanations you are looking for :)

In the render options box you need to set both final image size AND resolution. 8" x 10" @ 300 dpi = 2400 x 3000 pixels etc Don't forget that render times are also affected by your settings - GI will take far longer than GA, and using ultra will take far longer than final. It's the old balancing act between Quality & Time ... ... ...
