Very cool Drac!!!

There are 10 kinds of people: Those who know binary, and those who don't.

A whiner is about as useful as a one-legged man at an arse kicking contest.

No man... Its a New Age Cigar lighter...

danamo ( ) posted Wed, 04 May 2005 at 4:48 PM

Very cool Drac! It reminds me of the astrogator on the spaceship in "Forbidden Planet". Kinda retro, in a way.

Nice hologram thingie, Drac, what are your further plans with this thing ??? :D

draculaz ( ) posted Wed, 04 May 2005 at 5:29 PM

err... make a whole star system inside i guess

shinyary2 ( ) posted Wed, 04 May 2005 at 5:39 PM

Reminds me of the starmaps in "Knights of the Old Republic". The one underwater was particularly cool as I recall. BTW, did that volume texture come with Bryce5.5 or did you get it somewhere else/make it yourself?

draculaz ( ) posted Wed, 04 May 2005 at 5:45 PM · edited Wed, 04 May 2005 at 5:49 PM

surprisingly enough, came with 5.5. just a map of earth that i gave a fuzzy property and played with a bit in photoshop. 5.5 has all the major planetary maps. whoever thought that one was a smart man. kinda low-q, but still

I found that you can accomplish similar results by taking Clay's fire, setting it to Random, making it volumetric and fuzzy... also works well in combination with surface visible lights. Not sure why I told you that. =) Great modelling BTW.

It is a Saturn-sized Atomizing Structure Harnesser - Habitable Planet sized, or ASH-er, as we call them in the Industry. See? Look how small the Earth is? It's wasted, my friends.

I'VE GOT IT!!! It's the control room of the planetary factory in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, or at least one of the controls! See, they're making a star! LOL! Great work Drac!
