Subject: Is there a RenderositY font?

richardnovak77 ( ) posted Thu, 05 May 2005 at 8:56 PM · edited Thu, 07 November 2024 at 11:24 AM

I don't mean a black and white image of the logo, I mean an actual true-type font. Anywhere?

Probably Copyrighted along with the logo.

Hi richardnovak77, I am checking on this for you. I know the logo is trademarked and I believe the "Y" in Renderosity may be as well but not 100% sure. I'll let you know as soon as I find out. Thanks Stacey Community Manager

Thanks! I'm interested in the contest for the Renderosity logo and I'm not content to use just an alpha map or texture of an image in a render, unless I have nothing else to use. Thanks!!

from the previous challenge at the link.

The thingy at the end of the link doesn't have the font, only a black and white graphic of the word "Renderosity" in various graphic formats. Probably the reason it's got both Mac and PC downloads is that some file formats are unique to Mac (and to PC). But in any event, it's not a font as far as I can tell (unless .eps .ai or .tif are font files, and I'm positive the first and last are definitely NOT). Just trying to save anyone who might download those hoping to get the font. It's not it. ;-) bonni

It was what I could find. The truetype font that Renderosity uses does have a price tag, so I guess it's up to the person how much they want to invest in the contest.

If someone out there actually owns the font, and has a program capable of 3D text (Lightwave and Vue 5 come to mind), maybe they could make a 3D Renderosity logo and give it away as a freebie for use in the contest? Thanks!

geoegress ( ) posted Fri, 06 May 2005 at 11:30 AM

Nope richardnovak77 Your not allowed. Durring the last contest I made the text into a 3d model. I was promptly told that it violated renderosity.s copy right to put it in free stuff for renderosity's members for renderosity's own logo contest that is only used only the renderosity site and domain. go figure the logic of THAT!

Say what? That doesn't ake any sense. A logo is a logo, doesn't matter if it's 3d or 1d. Hmmm...
