After a short try without success with dynamic hair, I gave a chance to dynamic cloth, and it looks promising ...

This is a standard Jessi cloth from Poser6 made dynamic.
The 30 frames simulation took almost 2 minutes. The render 30 minutes.

Just need to figure that falling buttons ... lol

obs1: The JASC Animation Shop 3 is great to generate anitated GIF from AVI

obs2: A bigger WMV format is on http://pws.prserv.net/marcioab/cloth.wmv

you can make, in the cloth, "hard" zones to make buttons.

Adding to what adh3d is saying: Add the polygons for all the buttons to the "Rigid Decorated Group". This goup is used to keep the selected polygons hard but follow the cloth in the simulation. FYI: The reason that the buttons fall as opposed to staying with the cloth and flopping around is because the button objects are not welded to the cloth object in the .obj file for the coat. Cheers, Joe

Thank you ... "Rigid Decoreted Group" fix the buttons.

Btw, I was not able to create the simulation again. The "Collision" engine crash when the hands touch the body. I have used the first P6 standing pose and the hands penetrate the body and the "Collision" engine seems to get lost. I had to redo the pose.
I do not understand why I got it ok on the first time.
