Subject: poser 6 frustration

zoren ( ) posted Mon, 09 May 2005 at 6:54 PM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 12:08 PM

why is the hair on a figure in poser 6, when saved as obj file for export, not coming over to Vue or Bryce with the hair intact on the figure? Am I missing a step somewhere? appreciate any advice possible. ~ zoren

I'm not familiar with importing into Vue, but is it dynamic hair by any chance?

Is it dynamic hair? If so, it doesn't export.

Thanks, MM .. I wasn't sure if Vue had a plug-in for dynamic hair. 8-)

Deecy....with Vue5 you need Mover(from e-on) to import dynamic hair & clothes. V5I has Mover included.

OK, I know nothing about V5, all my Vue experience is with 4.

thanks for the info guys, I will avoid dynamic hair...perhaps one more question, is it possible to get poser 6 figures into the DAZ program?...

Not yet via directly importing, Vue only supports Poser 4 and 5 right now, but I think there will be an update to Vue5 to support P6 imports.

Poser 6 figures should work in DAZ|Studio. You might need to uncompress them first, and use a copy with internal morphs. The more advanced material shaders won't transfer, of course.

Poser 6 figures can be imported into Vue 5. But you'll have to turn off external binary morph targets in Poser. Then it works (I have rendered Jessi with transmapped hair in Vue5I without problems).

Mover 5 works with Vue 4 BTW and is a free upgrade if you have Mover 4.
