When plants decide to actually bloom and do it well, I am specially blessed. My horticultural thumb is black, not green. This year, well, today infact...the one rose (besides the very old climbing one) decided to bloom! And, our "wild" rhododendrons did the same with gusto. More bloom than any year before are popping out. These plants live in woods behind the house, neglected overall. Rose was taken this evening. Rhododendron bloom was this evening. Little sunshine reaches this yard due to many trees. Any bloom is a blessing! TomDart.

This is the rhododendron, one of the blooms. Light is only available in the mornings and that for only a little while. TomDart. Easier to take pics of bagworms all over the place... : )

That rose is about 3 1/2 inches across...the only rose plant like that we have. Soon, the old creeping climber rose I grew from cuttings from the one in my deceased mom's yard will bloom. That plant is from 200 year old stock from Wales. She got hers from her mom, etc., etc., and now I have one. Like some ladies it takes taming back a bit(not "really" possible with women!!! Don't even try!) but is lovely and very old fashioned.... Thankgoodness our plants are hardy stock.
