Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 6:57 am)
Vue had superior lighting Pre-P6; not to mention easier to set up lighting. With the shift to shaders in P5 that started to change, and with the inclusion of IBL and subsurface scatter in P6, the rules have changed again, and the playing field is a little more even. Vue still renders mostly better (and faster), but the lack of subsurface scatter effects (which would =really= add to the leaf realism, as well as skin realism) makes Poser better for -just- figure rendering. The thing to keep in mind regarding Poser is that in many ways, it is one big group experiment. Much of the functionality currently taken for granted are actually glitches, bugs, and hacks that the community tinkered out and exploited. To this day there is no 'Poser For Dummies' books; the closest thing you'll find to that are Dr Geep's Poser tutorials, that you can find the poser forum by searching for Dr Geep.

Hello,I've noticed a lot of images here containing poser content that were rendered in Vue. Now I can understand using Vue and Poser together, and owning both, for both compliment each other and obviously one provides ability that the other can't. But I am at a loss when the image only contains a Poser figure but rendered in Vue.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, see the attached link, the image is simply beautiful. But do these artists prefer to render in Vue because the Vue render engine is superior to the one in Poser?
Just curious, I don't know that much about Poser, but am thinking of buying it. Just looking for a little education :) Thank you
