Subject: Help with Mertail?

Steve32 ( ) posted Mon, 09 May 2005 at 1:09 PM · edited Sat, 08 February 2025 at 3:56 PM

Comments and preferences in mertails? Presently considering Daz V3 Mertail, and Mada's Lost Realms. I really like the fact that Lost Realms works for different sizes of characters. But I also prefer the flat, mammel/porpoise tail, and not having extra fins sticking out the sides. Also, comments on ease of use. Thanks very much, Steve

I like the DAZ V3 Mertail, not only did it cost just $1.99, but it looks great and works great.

Some good information in that thread.

Lost Realms by Mada is excellent. It uses Easy Pose to pose the tail and it is so versatile since you can use it with Laura, Stephanie, Aiko3 and Hiro. And the tail bends different from the V3mertail, since it is made from 10 segments and not set up like legs with thighs and shins.

To pose the tail you select the hip and have access to the Easy Pose dials that let you pose the entire tail - you do not need to select each segment seperately.

You can make the extra fins invisible if you like. Simply select the fin and spine material and make them transparent in the material room.

For merfolk? Dacort! He has 3 pages of mermaids and mertails. Especially look at Aquamarine. The tail has 7 different types of finny ends and morphs to change them even further, so you get lots of flexibility. You also get gills. ;) Carolly

I never use V3 for anything. I like more petite style women in my renders. I have Lost Realms in my wishlist right now and would do just about anything to be able to buy it. Alas, no money for extras this month.

Wadda mean, Kristta? My V3 mermaid isn't exactly a double for Rosanne Barr. Just how petite do you want her to be?

Kristta ( ) posted Wed, 11 May 2005 at 9:00 AM

V3 is too tall and she looks Amazon to me. Not talking really about waist size or anything. Just more hand, head, feet, legs size. I come from a family of short people. Average height is 5'4". My feet are a child's size 5. To me, V3 looks like a giant.

I made a Victoria 3.0 that was so small and petite that
I had to remove a picture of it from the forum because
people were complaining it violated Renderosity's TOS
regarding posting images of children, even though I
had intended it to show how Victoria could be made
into a petite adult. Yes, Victoria 3.0 out of the
box is pretty stacked, but that's what the morphs
are for, to change the way she looks. I just think
Victoria is more versatile because there are a lot
more morphs and clothing for her than for any other
character. And with all the morphs, she can look
like anything you want her to look like.

I took one of my kids to see a rated R movie and got asked for my driver's license. My daughter was 13 at the time. I hate how it's always assumed that just because someone is thin, not big breasted and young looking.....they are a child. Heck, I've got 5 (2 of them are stepchildren) children. At what point will I make it into the adult category?
