tvernuccio ( ) posted Thu, 12 May 2005 at 10:59 AM

Cindy, your house is GORGEOUS!!!!!!! luv that photo too!! POV is awesome! no point in showing a pic of our ugly apartment...

cynlee ( ) posted Thu, 12 May 2005 at 11:14 AM

thanks Sheila... right now rocklayers are finishing up the addition that's been standing naked for the last 2 years on the left side of the house... i'll try & get a collage up of that... took a ton of pics of them at work... Syl... I'm not the landscaper, I do take care of my rose garden though... :]xo (addicted to RR) the flowers here are wild... Indian Blankets, they bloom after the bluebonnets have gone to seed in this same area well... this Simone Says (yes, the feminine) went over like a ton of rock, huh... hehe, oh well...

tvernuccio ( ) posted Thu, 12 May 2005 at 11:27 AM

can't wait to see those pics, Cindy! i don't think i would ever want to mow my grass with beautiful wildflowers like that!!!

Okay, I'm going to be brave and show you my awful yard and house. The house is bright pink because my great-grandma lived in it and her favorite color was pink. I want to paint it, but haven't had the time. The yard needs mowing, again! I know you can't see too much of the house, but that's really all there is to it. It's long and straight. Cynlee, you house is beautiful. I wish I had taken this when the wildflowers here were blooming, but that ended last month. My favorite flowers....sparaxis. I love those flowers in your yard! Anyway, that's it. :)

hehe... we can be so picky! (darn sky, needs mowing, someone pull up the dead tree, etc...) thank you Damia!! now i don't feel so alone here & i think that's great you have your grandmother's house! always a work in progress & your roses are doing better then mine btw... you know what this means don't you? :] you'll get to be simon/e in 3 days time!! hurray! oh! & there's Doug's!! someone's sure got a green thumb! nice place

Damia ( ) posted Thu, 12 May 2005 at 1:01 PM

It's funny, my yard overall is awful, but if you look at my plants by themselves, they are doing pretty good. :) And Doug's yard is very colorful! Okay, I'll try to think of something good in 3 days!

tvernuccio ( ) posted Thu, 12 May 2005 at 1:47 PM

Damia, what are you talking about????? your house and yard isn't awful!!!! don't be silly! nothing wrong with bright pink! when kemal and i had our house...oh you would die to see it...i'm too lazy to scan a picture...but we had it painted bright red, purple, lime green, & yellow!!!!! the inside was the same...except we also had orange!!! kemal and i both adore bright colors! Our house, inside & out, was like a tropical jungle. sure do miss it, but it was WAY too much work. anyway, your place is beautiful!!!! doug...yours is too!!!! bet it smells great!!! you do all the landscaping yourself?

DJB ( ) posted Thu, 12 May 2005 at 3:37 PM

Some of the tree were planted 25 years ago, but yes I do all the recent landscaping. You know like the stones and the ties. bark mulch stuff. Do not plant the flowers though. Just make the things they go in

Ok, it's not our house, just a rental for 6 months but still! And Doug my dear, it's a jungle u've got out there!!! So beautiful!!! Can barely see the house though! LOL! But at least, u have lots of privacy, hidding behing all that foliage! My dream! It's 00.00am over here so I'll take a shot of the crappy house we live in tomorrow! ;)

My humble Cottage...Built in 1904...is still basically in it's Original Condition. The Foxton Horse Drawn Tram, stops outside My Abode and Tourists are given a rundown on the History of the Place...often an old Tramp goes and tells them to...Sod Off! I do like My Privacy. Most of the Land is out back....and boarders on a Water Land Reserve. I hope this doesn't stick out like a sore thumb....as the other Houses are very much "Home and Country" and are indeed... very grand & fine Dwellings :]

Michelle A. ( ) posted Thu, 12 May 2005 at 6:26 PM

sigh Oh Brian..... I love your house, 1904 means lots of character, and special touches you just don't see anymore.... and I love the colors too! Looks the rainbow ends in your backyard. My dream home is a 14-15 room victorian, built in the 1800's with 10 foot ceilings and lots of character.... don't ask what I'd do with all those rooms, but it's my dream so there!

Chelle...love your yard.and I think I lknow the Moore colour.Seems to be popular here too now. Tedz..you have so much character in that. I love the fence too. Damia so what if it is pink.Still there is a house.Someone around this city once painted a big Elvis Presely on their house...so pink would be welcome compared to that.

LOL!) :)

flopsy ( ) posted Fri, 13 May 2005 at 2:49 AM

wow, you all have such nice houses i live in a 1940s semi-detached council house, uninspiring to say the least the garden is the only good thing about it when i'm rich i'm going to buy a castle, in a forest. well i can dream anyway

Oh Cyn I love that pic!!! The perfect witches house!!!

Hey, witches have better housekeeping than that! ;] Great house shots gang, quite fun looking through them. This was my house over my little vacation. It is the Casa De Solano bed & breakfast in St. Augustine, FL. I would recommend it to anyone; the accomodations and food were stellar! We stayed on the second floor of the main house - top right. There is a carriage house to the left that also has rooms. A wonderful getaway. Maybe I'll post my real house later...

Here's our ugly retreat! Kind hard to find a nice detached house in England for a reasonable price! Unless u can afford to pay millions for it! But this is not our house anyway, just a rental, an ugly rental but at least we have a 'lil more space than in the previous one! Depressive huh!

cynlee ( ) posted Fri, 13 May 2005 at 2:25 PM

no pascale, i don't think so :] looks cozy, sure, but better & clean, yes? maybe less noise through the wall from your neighbors? & you have a bit of landscaping out front! grass & a bush! if i was living in the city i would be satisfied with it... you guys did good, hope it works out for you here & someday you'll get that country home you dream of ;]

TwoPynts ( ) posted Fri, 13 May 2005 at 2:26 PM

Don't be so down on it...I've seen much worse. Like you say, at least you have more space, and it is only a rental. :)

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Fri, 13 May 2005 at 2:51 PM

Oh there's a garden at rear too and a garage thx God! But it's not a city! They call it "rural"! I guess it's cos England is so small that they stick all the bloody houses together!! O_o LOL!

Michelle A. ( ) posted Fri, 13 May 2005 at 3:07 PM

Just think of it as a condo! I think it looks cozy Pascale.... and believe me you wouldn't want to see the 3 room apartment my husband and I first lived in about 20 years ago..... ughhh..... it was a dump and it was so tiny and so cold in the winter!!

not sure, a bit of both i guess... took a few shots of this type of housing when we were doing the "social issues" challenge... but was unsure of the polite way of addressing it without sounding like a snob :P not my place to judge how others live... taken as I said from the truck window as I didn't want to look funny standing outside taking pictures of these places & possibly being shot at or have the pit bull sicked on me for trespassing... (taken in a very economically depressed small area town in Texas)

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Fri, 13 May 2005 at 3:50 PM

Thx Chelle! But really...! ;) I would love to see that pic in bigger size Cyn! I find this place quite fascinating!

You are all now showing off Your Satellight Dishes....even Pascale Has a Wok on the Woof in Her "Semi Detached Suburban Mrs.Jones"...looks great for Rental AccoMADation...I used to Rent in London East End...and 7 Different Apartments used the one Bath...which of course never bothered Me, because I like My Musk & never Bath...and, I have Lived in a Cardboard Box and been Homeless once...and came from a Broken Home.... I broke it! So Home is where You hang Your Hat ....and I think of the Comedian....not His Name.....but when he went to see His Shrink...a Dr.Freud....He said that His Home ran away from Him..Dr.Freud corrected Him , and said...."No! No! No!....What You mean ...is You ran away from Home!"...."No! ...said the Patient...."My Home ran away from me....I Lived in a Covered Wagon....and fell out the back!"...."Frontier Psychiatrist" was the Skit. It's not a semi-detached but a terrace house Teddy! Even worse! As for the dish, it's doesn't work! And yes, I too lived in worse places and slept in the streets, train stations, phone booths and so on many times but I've been used to much better than that too when we owned our house so I guess that's why I find this one crappy! ;) Oh well!

WoW you guys. There are some beautiful homes showing up here. Our trees are still babies, the sage grows wild, the deer eat almost everything I plant and the flowers have yet to bloom but here's our place. Pascale, your place does not look depressive to me! Looks like city life where someone did take the time to plant something to make the concrete just a little softer. Jackie

Like Chelle, jaw drops!!! O_O Man oh man!! And u nailed it Jackie, city life indeed! But that's the thing, city life IS depressive! I hate cities!!! I mean, it's ok for a day or 2, visiting and such but NOT to live in!!! Ur place is a 'lil paradise to me!

cynlee ( ) posted Sun, 15 May 2005 at 10:29 AM

yep, yep!! where do you live Jackie? it's beautiful!! :]

wackiej ( ) posted Sun, 15 May 2005 at 10:55 PM

This is why I live here and my poor husband works in LA. Our home is in the North East corner of Nevada. Idaho to our north and Utah to our east. Closest town is Elko, off of Highway 80 about 3 hours west of Salt Lake City. The mountains are called the Ruby Mountains and really are fantastic. It's high desert and fairly arid. Lots of Aspen in the mountains and really pretty in the fall. We lived in Vegas for about a year, that was a nightmare. When we go visit my husband all the people and the noise make me crazy. This is a pretty good place to raise my son. Okay- that was way more than you asked for! Have a great week! J
