According to Flylady (a site to help people get on the road to getting organized), you can do anything for 15 minutes. She recommends that you don't wait for long blocks of time to get started on projects, but that you set a timer for 15 minutes, dedicate 15 minutes on your project, and then stop. Schedule 15 minutes every day (or every week) to work on your project until you finish, or have established a routine. Don't scoff until you try it. So on Wednesday, set aside 15 minutes to start on that writing project you've been procrastinating about, set your timer, and write. You might write a sketch, an outline, a page, or edit something you have written. It really doesn't matter as long as it gets you started on what you've set aside and haven't found time to get around to. What do you lose by giving it a try? 15 minutes. :)

By the way, Flylady has a saying she ends every mailing with, and I think it is a good one: "You are not behind! I don't want you to try to catch up; I just want you to jump in where we are."

Heeeyyy i LIKE that! :)... though... I think I'm so far behind if I jump in I'll end up somewhere two months ago ;) lol

I thought that too, but there is a old saying that if you never take the first step, you'll never finish the journey.

Check out the site. Lots of good tips on it.

Though don't sign up for the group unless you like lots of email. Flylady sends out a bunch of reminders every day and they can be overwhelming at the beginning (unless yhou keep in mind that she doesn't expect every one of them to be followed--they are meant for different levels of participation).

Right now I'm caught up on my dishes, my laundry and I have a clean kitchen sink for the first time in weeks. Baby steps. :)

Good Morning! How long do you suppose it takes you today to be exposed to as much information as your grandparents were exposed to in their entire lifetime? (I am not 100% certain I have used proper grammar in that sentence, but you get the point.) Answer? Three months. It is so very easy to be distracted by too much fun, interesting information. Do this: ---- Stop on One Good Idea and GO! by the Big Bad Boss Focus! Pay attention! Too much distraction! Good books, the Internet, they keep me from action. Such good ideas, so much information! My engine is revving but I'm stuck in the station How do I know which path to take? Better do research, so much is at stake! STOP. Cut it out! You know what to do. Take action before your ideas die in you! ---- I just read two MORE excellent ideas for writing, publishing and speaking. I plan to take my own advice, stop reading, and PRODUCE. How about YOU? Send my your thoughts... donnaboyette@yahoo.com . Signing Off, -Big Bad Boss Shared with permission.
