A hummingbird sitting still..... I have a feeder sitting outside my dining room window, the activity there has picked up quite a bit the last couple of weeks, so I decided to sit with my camera and wait. I happen to notice this female Ruby-Throat taking a break.... this particular image was shot through double paned glass..... not particularly happy with it.... but still tickled to have gotten the shot at all.....

Darn you....I tried today for awhile at a house I was working on.They had a feeder with a few of these hanging around.Course till I went and got camera. Don;t think I have seen one sitting idle though. Perfect!

I definitely like it..never seen a shoot of birds like this one...It's full of colors and the little bird is really in focus! It's like if he is the king watching over his kingdom ;-) Really beautifull pic!

There nothin' NOT to like about this capture Chelle! Even shot thru that window of yours (SQUEAKY CLEAN I must add)... you did it! These li'l birds are HYPER-ACTIVE as all get out! Normally you can't get a "bead" on them because they are so fast and zippy! You caught one in a RARE moment of DOWN TIME!

I love humming birds! You caught a great shot of a very pretty one. I have humming birds living in my bottle brush bush in the back. I alwyas see them, but never capture them with the camera. Here is the only shot I have of a humming bird. The top is the whole shot, the bottom is the same shot, but cropped to show the little bugger. Every time I go out to take pics of them, they buzz (or hum) around me but never stay in sight for long. My camer has a big delayed focus so it's almost impossible. You did a GREAT job! And I agree....your window is WAY too clean! ;)
