Frankly, I think that your buildings from the last CG Talk challenge would sell better. Robby would sell better, especially if rigged for Poser. This is not as good. Possibly because of the materials used. And don't confuse a free download with a selling model. OTOH, "Removable Hydraulic Landing System" is a hoot - "just delete the hydraulic landing system". :-)

I've seen better flying saucers on cereal boxes. That model isn't even worthy of that campy movie "Mars Attacks!" I'd buy yours ten times before I bought that other piece o'crap. Can't imagine why they won't sell yours (if I understand you correctly). Its a far superior and more sophisticated model, mats included. I haven't bought a single thing from DAZ other than Bryce. And although I've been tempted, I haven't bit the biscuit yet.

Didn't you already give that particular model away for free earlier? Maybe Daz just wants to avoid the confusion that could cause... And that flying saucer thing is kinda cheesy. I know I've given away better stuff for free. :)

Yeah, grrr at kimpe. There's plenty of room for nekkid vickies in there - can't you envision a nekkid vicky draped over the windscreen?? Or was that pasted like a bug over the windscreen??!!??

If we must compare, yours is certainly the more attractive and original model, but are you certain that the real issue regarding the rejection is soley about the model? I realize that this is none of my business; it's between you and DAZ, but as I understand they're quite selective based on a number of factors, and are reportedly backlogged at the moment with unreleased products. Unless they specifically said that they didn't think your ship model would sell, I wouldn't necessarily assume that's what they were thinking. On the other hand, as just sort of an educated guess, I think they may be having some issues regarding valuation of Bryce content. The "problem" is that Bryce has been around for so long that there are plenty of high-quality items to be had for free. Your ship is absolutely worth the $10 you suggest selling it for, but in the context of a market where lots of high-quality free items already exist, they may not have seen the return on investment with this one. I have no idea obviously, but perhaps factors like this played into the rejection. Sorry to hear about your disappointment. You clearly have considerable talent.
I'm still amazed you're giving Robbie away free... Nevertheless this is a good model. If DAZ knows that you are giving it away for free, and now trying to sell it, then maybe they think that it's not commercially feasible. I mean, who's going to go and buy it when you can just download it free? Same sort of thing happens with movies all the time... only with you it would be legal =) If you aren't offering the model for free anymore, people can still get it from their friends. Again it happens with movies all the time... Just a thought. And "nihilistic" is a good word. I use it often =)
I'm still amazed you're giving theCuBe away free... Listen to kimpe just make your next model a nvitws lol
for
some free stuff i made
and
for almost daily fotos
It's an excellent model, but DAZ doesn't sell what they've found to be offered for free. I was considering brokering my mats there(no buyers at Rosity), but I'm not sure that I won't just offer them free, as DAZ is so picky, picky, picky.....

Drac it is because you already offered that model out for free before. DAZ will only take original models and those that have not been placed on other sites as freebies. But i will say that the one you have the link to is a nice spaceship and really compaired to your model, there's not much to that spaceship. Keep your chin up mate, i'll always grab your models whether they are freebies or i have to pay for it.
I have opinions of my own -- strong
opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.
If it is a freebe here then most likley it woudl not be in their best interests to sell it at DAZ. Most of what sells is poser content. Bryce is not where people tend to spend money. Make a poser version with a canopy that opens then they would probably bite. I was looking into making soem models for DAZ but I don't have poser so I really can't make them poser ready. I do agree that the example given is a 15 minute model if that.

Did you ever offer that as a freebie, pidjy? I thought that was the main reason stuff got rejected.

Considering the limited Bryce content that they have you'd think they would at least want to try selling some of these models, or it could be if it doesn't work in DAZ Studio, then no go....(by that I mean 'poserized')

pidjy, i know why yours was rejected, can't actually say it on here cause some of it is against the tos.
Just think along the lines of a probe used on part of the body...they have plenty of them over at DAZ. PS: i wasn't stating your model is one of those probes, it might remind them of one they had used on them at sometime ;)

LOL at CrazyDawg.. hmmm.. yes I know what you mean (lol) .. anyway maybe why this model was (really) rejected is maybe because I have submit it allmost two years ago.. before they sell Bryce 5.5 at that time a bryce model was not interesting .. maybe.. or maybe there's a copyright on this specific design.. I don't know.. They didn't said why on the mail I've received.. PS: sorry for my bad grammar and spelling... cheers
Pidjy's model is good, but I guess Daz doesn't want any copyright conflicts with the Matrix franchise. Same reason you don't see any 3D models of disney characters there either.

I don't know, Drac...that saucer you're up against is pretty shady...you probably deserved to be rejected if something as godly as that made it. In all seriousness...if campy models like that are being put up for sale, i've got a serious, SERIOUS chance at becoming a revenue-earning, published 3D artist.
hey Pidjy, I WANT THAT MODEL. so hope daz come to reason.... On to drazulz model, i agree that its a bit simple (no offense!) compared to tha 1000's of gigs worth of free stuff out there. $10 sounds ok. im guessing daz couldnt be asked since they are selling stuff for almost nothing nowadays. skeletons x2 for $4 and so on.. You should sell them off ur/a website then youll have control. alex,
R'osity's marketplace? pidjy, don't know whether to hope that they accept it or not; if they don't I have a chance at getting it FREE! Right? LOL Just kidding good luck to you, hoping DAZ comes to their senses... But no one wants a copyright infringement suit. If they want to make money off it wouldn't DAZ have to contact WB or someone and ask for permission? Said permission they would likely have to pay for.... Anyhow, luck!
