Subject: Posing problem

Acadia ( ) posted Fri, 20 May 2005 at 4:52 AM · edited Mon, 10 February 2025 at 9:23 AM

I found a free pose for M3 in the free section. Very nice poses. However, I'm having a bit of trouble. One pose is like he is 1/2 sitting on a bar stool. One leg on the floor, the other like it's on a rung of the bar stool, with the forearm resting on the thigh. The outfit I'm using is from Poser World and doesn't have morphs, so I'm trying to lower the raised leg just a smidge, because it looks like the arm is intersecting with the pants. Only I can't for the life of me figure out how to lower that leg! I've tried "Figure - left buttock", "Figure - left thigh" and "Figure - left shin", but all I can do is move the leg from the ankle up ... side to side. I've also tried using that tool that gives the round circles for the axis, and still the same thing. Oh yeah, I also tried the hip, and that just seems to bend the figure at the waist. I've also tried to move the forearm, collar, shoulder, but I'm not great with posing and it makes the pose look un-natural and not relaxed. I need to move the leg down so it's not bent so severely. Any tips please?

Acadia, Do you have IK turned on for Mike? It sounds like that might be the problem.

If it's on, that's the problem. It's supposed to help by making the leg move in a natural looking way when you put the foot where you want it, but most of the time, it seems to get in the way.

Ooops, I just saw that you asked if I had IK "ON". I thought you said "Off". I had it turned off initially, but I guess I didn't turn it off again after I rebooted.
