Here's 2 shots and I need only one to display in my website! BUT...I can't decide which one if any of them at all! The first shot, u might recognize it, is an old one of mine that I re-worked with my new knowledge of B&W conversion and levels and so on. Now, tell me HONESTLY, which one, if any, I should keep for my website! Plz, don't hesitate to tell me that they suck if that's what u think, I really WON'T be offended!! I just wanna know cos I just can't make my mind up!! Plz, pretty plz! :D

Okay, I don't think I will be a whole lot of help, but I'll give my two cents. :) The first is great in BW and has a neat feeling with the trees and leaves around it. I really like that one. The second is good because if you really look at it, you start to wonder what happend to the car. My mind starts making up stories about how it exploded and whatnot (I write horror stories in my spare time, so I won't go into details. heh heh). So what it comes down to is the feeling you want on your site. I haven't seen your site so I don't know if it's going in a gallery or as decoration? Anyway, I think they are both REALLY good. I think I'm leaning toward the first one though. :)

It's for a gallery Damia! Thx a lot for ur opinion! Here's the link if u want to check it out. The link is to the page I want to upload the image in.

Zabeth ( ) posted Thu, 19 May 2005 at 5:40 PM

knowing your site i would take the first one... But this is jsut my opinion... HugeHugs

kimariehere ( ) posted Thu, 19 May 2005 at 5:40 PM

oh i had to look again i am with you they are both so good i cannot decide then again its hard for me to make decisions.. when there are two great shots .. put them both together on a spread sheet and put them both up and tell your story .. just my advice on it...

kimmers ♥ :O)

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Thu, 19 May 2005 at 5:44 PM

And tell my story?? What do u mean Kim?? Thx Zabou dear for ur opinion too! ;)

Damia ( ) posted Thu, 19 May 2005 at 5:51 PM

Thanks for the link! I put it in my favs so I can check out all your images. And after seeing that page, I would deffinately go with the first one. :)

mireille ( ) posted Thu, 19 May 2005 at 6:25 PM

I would prefer the first one pascale as the tones are rich..and for that type of image..i prefer B&W...wich brings us more within a scene (avec un regard plus ''sensible'' que la couleur je trouves) On the 2nd shot, the sky looks a bit dull to me . This is my honest taste ;-)

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Thu, 19 May 2005 at 6:57 PM

Ok!! Thx guys!! That's 4 in favor of the first shot now so I guess I've got my answer! ;) Thx a bunch to all and each of u! :D

L8RDAZE ( ) posted Thu, 19 May 2005 at 7:41 PM

Make it 5! I remember these images! The first one definitely has a more ARTZY feel to it(IMO)! The tones really add to it! The second one seems more of a documentaryjournalistic type photo. Something you might see in the paper or on the news!

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Thu, 19 May 2005 at 7:55 PM

I agree Joe!! Thx for ur feedback! ;)

kimariehere ( ) posted Thu, 19 May 2005 at 8:14 PM

oh sorry i meant tell the story about your car and how it got that way... lol oops i thought they both were but reread ( forgive me i have the flu r now) anyways i like to see a picture and read about what happened.. so do your old car makes it more interesting i feel... and yes your car is more arsty looking...sory for not explaining earlier..

kimmers ♥ :O)

cynlee ( ) posted Thu, 19 May 2005 at 8:20 PM

too late to say #1? hehe... for the same reason as Joe :]

DJB ( ) posted Thu, 19 May 2005 at 8:46 PM

Honest??? OK here goes... So for your website..I say the top one.It has more in the frame and seems to be more artistic because of the tones.Tells more a story. The colour one is more "just a photograph" The background is what gets my attention in that one, more than subject. Almost like anyone could take this shot. I mean it is clear and has the nice rusty textures I like, but I'd go with the other. It is more you.

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Thu, 19 May 2005 at 8:50 PM

Thx thx thx for the feedback guys! And no Cyn, it's never too late! It confirms my choice! ;)

tibet2004uk ( ) posted Thu, 19 May 2005 at 8:51 PM

And yes Doug, I agree! :)

tvernuccio ( ) posted Thu, 19 May 2005 at 11:30 PM

u know i always loved that one, Pascale! (number 1 is my choice too!) Hey, Pascale...you usin' a software for your homepage or did you write all that HTML code yourself? Reason i ask...you're setting up yours kinda the way i wanna do mine. mine is still in the planning stage though. i've been too busy to work on it much. thanks girl.

Erlik ( ) posted Fri, 20 May 2005 at 1:11 AM

I definitely like the first one more. The second one looks... ordinary.

coolj001 ( ) posted Fri, 20 May 2005 at 1:16 AM

Those are both very cool shots :-) I can't make up my mind, but that's typical of me. I see your choice is already confirmed, and you have abandoned the other, but as you realize I must comment..... Cool web site. I like the name PascArt. Sorry to take so long... -Jeff :-)

Zacko ( ) posted Fri, 20 May 2005 at 7:02 AM

Doubt youd want my opinion...but since im bored and feel like typing i dont care, lol. #:op Havent read the other replies to your question but my honest opinion is that you should go with the first one. I love them both, but the first one has such class to it, alot more artistic than the other one. There ya go...bla bla bla...hope youll get to have a wonderful weekend Pascale!!!! Oooooh....coffee...mmmm.....gotta go....mmmmm....see ya!!!!

I see you've already put no1 up in your gallery. Good choise ! When I "leaf" through the images in the gallery the flow is "unbroken" - so to speak. I mean - you don't start a concert with classics and then suddenly finish it off with a rumba ... ... or do you .. ? ;-) .. well ... perhaps ... sometimes ... No - it works better with the monochrome. Definitly. BTW it's all in all a very interesting website you've got there !! -- Bakkti --

Zacko ( ) posted Fri, 20 May 2005 at 8:18 AM

Reading Bakktis reply i feel somewhat like an idiot..wouldnt be the first time though..sigh...see i just knew there was no point for me to give you my opinion..bla bla bla...maybe i should get back to work instead and actually earn my paycheck...sigh...but its soooo booooring...ah well...have a great day in jolly old britain P!

No longer need my input it seems but here it is anyway, hahah! ;] Firstly, I agree with your choice of using the first. My only suggestions on possibly improving the image would be to use curves (photoshop if you have it) to darken the midtones a bit. Just a thought. I do really like the second one too. I remember it from when you showed it to me a few weeks back. If I were going to put it in my gallery, I would play with the curves and levels to make things a tad more saturated; and darken and color the sky a bit to make it look more foreboding. I did that with variations and curves with just the top 1/5th of the image selected and feathered. Here is a sample, though I think I maybe pushed it a little too far, but you get the idea...maybe somewhere in-between. Yikes, I hear the boss coming, better get back to work! ;] --Kort

Actually, I did a cut-n'-paste with your name and still didn't see I had missed out the "e" ... Well - that's life...Pascale .. ;-) -- Bakkti --
