seems the pro packs getting a few negative vibes so I though I'd post a positive one, a test piece using the pro pack, the animation is BVH from zygote heavily modified (otherwise the guy with hair would have been cut in half LOL) only work in 3d max was to change a texture but I messed up and missed his nipples so thats my fault not the Pro pack :o).........its a 1.3mb AVI i was going to compress but the quality was really nice and I didn't think that size was to bad.........Steve

It certainly does look realistic! That's what we are all hoping for...

The guy can't fight for s&*^ but the avi looks great. Glad to see some positive response I am taking a wait and see before I put up the money for it.

Steve, that looks fantastic... So what are we all doing wrong? I mean, I've been a Max and Poser user for years. All I am getting is crashes and hair welded to the character. Any chance of a few tips or a quick tutorial??? Colm...

Thanks :o)......Colm I'm not sure whats happening with your problems I had a look at the other thread and its got me baffled i used Mike here with a custom texture and the movie was done using antons p4 texture without renaming the only thing i can think of is its a max 2.5 problem as this was rendered pretty much as is i just made the eyebrows invisible......he was one solid object but thats standard and the same way cinema imports....sorry i wasn't more help..Steve

Thanks Steve... I do have Max 3.1 and I will reinstall it and see what the difference is with the Poser plugin. I understand that when imported, it is all one solid object, and that is fine with me. What I can't fathom is... Is the pluging supposed to load the textures automatically? How did you get around the fact that 'Mike' has a head and a body texture if it is being imported as one solid object? Also (using 2.5) the hair is welded to the parent figure. Is this the case with 3.1 and if so, how do you get it to load a different texture on the hair? Sorry for bugging you but you seem to be the only one who has come forward with success in this department... Thanks again, Colm...

Ok... I got it... I reinstalled Max 3.1. When you render in 3.1 it tells you what textures are missing and unlike 2.5 it gives you the option of adding the path of the textures. I haven't tried adding the path yet in 2.5. Also I haven't tried animation in 3.1 as of yet. But I imagine it will work as you have done this allready Steve. Do you know if there is a way to get the textures to render in the scene windows..? i.e smooth and highlight. Also I don't know if it will take into account reflection maps and ambient colors yet. It seems to load transparency maps OK... Anyway the future looks good... Colm...

I don't think you can Colm the little checkered box (view texture in viewport i think its called) is greyed out so we can't use that, I had some specular on his eyes and lips so I think it'll do the others too just wish there was more time to play :o).........Steve
