Subject: Interesting but obscure Left Hand Pose bug..............

Funny you can use Poser for years and find something new. Of course I am sure someone else has noted this before. When you have "Use Limits" tunned on, hand poses applied to the left hands of figures come out differently. When "Use limits" is off, left hand poses apply as they should Body poses that contain hand data are fine even ith "Limits" on. But if you apply a hand pose to the left hand when limits is off, then turn limits on, and reapply the pose, it is different. Strange huh? Seems to exist from P4 to P6. Funny I have never heard anyone talk about this before. Anyone else ever notice this?

I wonder if it depends what hand(usually we save the right) you save into the library. Seems like limits confuses the mimits from the original hand the pose was saved from. hmmmm. Fix:Apply hand poses with limits off.

Hadn't noticed it before, but your explanation makes sense. The Bend parms are opposite on both hands, and the limits are not symmetrical. For instance, On Misaki's left Index 1, Min -61 Max +33 On Misaki's right Index 1, Min -33 Max +61 So if the hand-pose switcher starts with a right hand value of 50, then negates it to -50, then (mistakenly) applies the 'old' min of -33 instead of the 'new' min of -61, the bend will be too small.

I think this explains some odd behaviour I've noticed before, but could never quite grasp (pun intended).

Recently, I saved a hand pose for Mike 3 from the right hand and tried applying it to the left side and it barely did anything! When I used Figure > Symmetry > Right Arm to Left Arm, the hand changed properly. So this explains why, eh? Strange. Are we sure it only affects right hand pose to left hand pose and not left hand pose to right hand pose? I never noticed a problem with hand poses that shipped with Poser. I wonder how they did their hand poses? (Also, does anybody else think that the second joint of Mike 3's thumb is unusually long? :) )

This is very strange. I thought I had the right explination of what's happening twice today, but I was wrong both times, so I'll think for a while before I open my mouth again :(
