Subject: Any work-around for Poser dynamic hair imported to Vue 5 Esprit?

I'm new to Vue 5 Esprit. I would like to import my Poser figures to put them in more interesting environments, but I've noticed that the more complex hair props don't render properly in Vue--they come out blotched and grainy and without appropriate transparencies. I'm guessing this is a limitation of 5 Esprit versus Infinite, but as long as I'm still with Esprit, what is the best I can do with the hair? Are there certain settings in Vue (or settings I could change in Poser before bringing the figures over) that would be at least a partial fix? I may have to bite the bullet and dumb down the hair of my favorite Poser characters, but if I can avoid that, I'd be very happy. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Poser 5 and Vue 5 Esprit worked well together using dynamic hair. The attached URL is to a small tutorial I wrote a while ago before Poser 6 and Vue 5 Infinite came out. Maybe it will help.

Hey, thanks. I've played around with some of the settings you mention in the tutorial, and it has helped some. I'll keep playing, and hopefully I'll get the rest of the way there. Cheers!

Changing the transparency filter from a straight line to a curve tends to help. The grainy and blotchy effects get worse if you use soft raytracing. Change the shadows of soft lights to soft shadows, and boost the quality setting to max. Definitely helps.
