@ drac, i had the same problem with importing the rock stack in to bryce 5.
I blame it all on AS.
Sorry AS i had to blame someone but the modeller ;) Well i'll head back to the game site now, new season about to start...I hate new seasons, more things to implement and bugs to fix. CD (DA reminds me of Bryce 5.5, lots of bugs to be fixed)

I have opinions of my own -- strong
opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.
Wierd, Bryce does some funny things. I'm no techy so I can't say why. Hopefully somebody will be able to help!

Many thanks Joe and AS! I had the same problem with the stack. Just a thought, it may be worth trying one untextured. I had a problem with 5.5, when I tried to save a textured obp...It kept crashing. I then took an untextured one into Bryce 5 and textured it there with the exact same texture and it worked fine.In 5.5 it wouldn't save as an object or as a Bryce scene file!
I couldn't import at all without getting that crash above. I tried submiting a bug report with DAZ but all I got was: APPLICATION ERROR #401 Database query failed. Error received from database was #1153: Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' for the query: INSERT INTO mantis_bug_file_table (bug_id, title, description, diskfile, filename, folder, filesize, file_type, date_added, content) VALUES (6546, '', '', 'df77bbbaf364f299b534851976e9fc36', 'rock stack.obp', '', 4309671, 'application/octet-stream', '2005-05-27 18:48:33', ' CCmFile::kIdentify4 Resource
If you do a tutorial on how to make the rock stack, then everyone can vary the 'look', so we all wouldn't have the same exact stack in our renders,.....just a thought...=) Getting it free and premade is great, don't get me wrong, I'm just one of those people who like to know how things are put together, hence all the clock and appliance parts stacked in the garage, until I get them back together...=

Ok Zhann has spoken and must be obeyed lol! I'll sort a tutorial out soon.

Just rocks. If you click the rock icon in the create menu, each time you click it a dirrerent shape rock will be created. Then just arrange them accordingly. I also placed some trees on the structure to give it some foliage.

Okay, the rocks are fine. Are the trees Bryce trees that are grouped with the rocks? If so, grouped Bryce Trees crash Bryce 5.01 and 5.5 when attempting to import or export them from the Objects Library or on trying to select/create them from the library. The OBP can be placed in the Objects folder to access, It can be selected in 5.01, but crashes on clicking on the checkmark and in 5.5, crashes if you even select the object. If you create an object with grouped Bryce Trees, it can be saved to the library, but they can't be used. Hence the problem DAZ had with the Content Kit and Foleypro's trees. If you provide the object as a Bryce scene, then folks can use it.
I would create a stack of primitives (cubes for example), you could vary the size and placement, then select all the primitives, go to edit, then click on convert selection and choose rocks. Then you would just have to drop any rocks that are floating.
There are a lot of things worse than dying, being afraid all the time would be one.
Hey Orbital, I had tried that 2nd zip of thr rock stack yousent, it crashed just the same as the first. ;o( Sorry. Maybe have them in a zipped .br5? AS
