Dear 3DGuy, could You please send Me the info...in confidence ...of course...about "adding inches to parts that dont need adding..."...as it is of interest to Me. Keeping in Mind Photography, I do believe that Photographers are Spammed via unscrupulous "Companies", that use a Mass Mailing List and entice Photographers into Submitting a Entry Fee into some Bogus Competition . SPAM is all about Us. ```````` And...of no interest to anyone in particular...I will relay a Story from Down Under a Week back. A popular Site in this Country is a "Buy & Sell Site" A particular NZ Professional Photographer, who Photographs for the Media, Advertising, noticed that His Photos had been turning up on this "Buy & Sell Site"...basically lifted, right click from His Site...and then the Digital Image is flipped over (back to front) and, the Scene is Painted over in Oils....thus Netting the "Painter" about US $120,000 in the 9 Months that He had been doing the "Steal & Paint" thing....He was banned from the Site...and...Banished...however, He still disappeared...with a lot of Money, a lot of Buyers, who now don't have what they thought they had.....and a Professional Photographer who has had His Images Stolen....and He receives no Address.... I rest My Case! Now that Song Joe!

lol@Tedz.. let's not and say we did ;) aside from my rant, I get around 120-130 spammails per day :( and I do my best to keep my email addy's off the net. Using the right software it's not much more than a nuisance, but after 3 weeks of vacation I'm looking at close to 3000 useless emails. I always tell people not to send me any email during my holiday because when I get home I delete everything from the inbox without looking. I just can't be bothered to pick out the 2 or 3 legitimate ones.

I send them this in the hope it will bugger up their mail server. I have made it smaller for here, the original is about 25 meg, seems to keep them from maailing me again!

They wil not get it ..I tried ages ago to reply back.Also I have blocked with a filter spam, but it just seems to get through. I never Never open them.Besides, the spam I gwet is only on the website mail. Spammers know that anyone with a website has mail in that name. So what is Prem...... Tedz....whaaaa??? you mean you have not tried the breast enlargers too.

dB is right. The return address on email is always bogus/fake. You may be sending replies to an innocent bystander. Best thing to do is just delete it. Clicking 'unsubscribe' links in spam DOESN'T work. It'll just confirm your emailaddress is valid and active.

The majority of Spam comes from the US as spamming is now illegal in the EU with hefty fines for those who get caught. Hardly ever get any from the UK or EU, but over 100 a day, fall into my Spam trap mostly viagra and the like most stating only available to US residents. Bout time someone dealt with the Spam issue world wide, it serves no real purpose except for clogging servers. The few that are sloppy enough to let me know their return address get my sweet message.

I haven't received any spam saying 'I have done this especially for you.'Does that mean I'm not even spam-worthy? LOL!

(well, i look the food, but not the junk mail!!!!) i haven't entered a contest with a fee in 15 years. oh man i would be soooooooo MAD if someone made off with tons of money from stealing one of my photos!!!! Rinze and Doug are right...just delete them. never open them. i never got SPAM on my one yahoo email account...the one i receive RR stuff on...UNTIL i gave my email addy out. it happened recently. i started getting SPAM. it all began when that woman emailed me asking if she could use my images. i wrote her back and told her NO. I didn't wanna reply, but felt i'd better make it clear i didn't want my images used. now i sing the stinkin' Spam song..... :(

Dear Sister Sheila ...yep...just Delete...otherwise it Confirms that You are a "Live One", and I do recall this "Woman?...even that ..You can't be sure of" approaching You about Your Photos. Aah...well...You are not alone...but, You are at least Man enough to admit it. I have a whole Folder of Hate Mail Generated from the RR Email Link...but, at least it is Mail :] One incident for Me....and many others...(won't Name the Person for fear of embarrassment) was a Dedication....just for Me....but, when the Comments went up on the Image....so many were thanking this Person for the Dedication to them...I realized I was the Victim of...Renderosity SPAM!

I did once have my own IM spammer who would IM me everytime a new image was uploaded.... my solution was to no longer comment on the work. I stopped getting spammed. 'Chelle

Spam yes! What a pain!! I got a few everyday too but not many actually cos I NEVER open a mail from someone I don't know! And I realized that after a while, I got less and less of those crappy mails! ;)

Gee I remember getting spammed as a kid. I have vague unpleasant memories of my mother, giving me spam. I think now that I am older, I have learned to use a spam filter, and as such have been spam free. If it is against the law to spam someone, why do they sell it at the grocery store?
