I am fuming!!!! I have just checked my Bank statement on line and notice that my bank Lloyds TSB have just introduced a charge for every foreign transaction carried out over the internet therefore every time I make a purchase from Rendo, Daz, RDNA I am charged 1.00 Especially bad as with all the time introduced offers like Bryce madness and of course Monthly subscriptions to the PC club. Does any other UK bank do this????

Don't know for sure as I'm on the other side of the tub. Why not just use a CC and make your payment to the CC company through your bank. It's like those damn ATM withdrawls when using opposing banks ATM machines. OHHHHH, so now you want to actually carry the card around with you....That'll be another charge if you please. DOH!! ;)

Lame, imho. My bank (USA) Charges ME $10 to accept a payment, wire transfer from London. I bet the bank sending it also charges (the sender) to just send it. (but, I'm not sure) Lame, oh, so lame. But, whatcha gonna do? AS

AS, the bank sending it does charge the sender. I get money sent to me by family in the UK by Wire transfer, i get charged for it and so do they.

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

lamelamelamelamelamelamelame `Course, I was complaining about my phone today too - Since I now use my cell phone for really everything, it just so happened this last month, not one phone call was made or recieved on my landline phone. Still costs me $10 just to have it sitting there. But, in the rare case I might need to dial 911, and not have a charged up cell phone.... AS

lindans - what you could do is just buy yourself a gift certificate at daz and just spend off that through the 6 months or however long they last for (or won't daz let you renew your PC club that way?). No idea if the other stores have gift certs. Its just wrong what that bank's doing to you, but this might be a way of reducing the impact. AS - yeah I got a payment wired to me from the US and it cost 10$ australian as well. Maybe 10 is a magic number in the banking industry...

Thinks that's bad? Nat West charge you 35 if you go overdrawn on your regular account.

I got notices from my CC company and bank, stating that foreign currency conversion procedures were changing effective 4/2 and they would be assessing a 3% additional charge for all foreign transactions (I'm in the US). I don't have paypal but if I can avoid paying that extra 3% I just might have to sign up for an account.

There are a lot of things worse than dying, being afraid all the time would be one.

lindans, Are you using your debit card? I use a credit card issued by Lloyds TSB and I'm not getting this on my statement (so far).

For those dealing with this situation and DAZ or anyone else that is having a similar type promotion. Buy once by buying yourself Gift Certificates at the begining of the sale, or as others have suggested, just do a one time Transfer to Paypal. Just make sure you change your Primary Pay Source at these sites.

The US does not do this, as far as I know or have experienced.
