Wonder how this was done. Do you think it's a 3d model, or if they actually put the bits together and filmed it?

Click on link and download to desktop to play. WMV 4.67MB

Edit to add - if you don't want to download a strange file, go to
http://www.citroen.co.uk
and there's a link to see the ad there. Much lower quality video, though, and smaller than the downloaded one.

Good detective work! Wonder how much an ad like that would cost?!?!?! Millions, I'm guessing. Wonder what he'd charge for concept for a music video ;^)

danamo ( ) posted Sat, 20 November 2004 at 2:33 PM

I agree that the ad is amazing! It's hard to believe sometimes how far computer animation has come in the last 20 yrs. Maybe in a another 20 yrs. we'll look back at stuff like this and think it's as quaint as the original "Tron", or "The Last Starfighter" seem now.

I wish it was three times as long lol. The dancing was just brilliant, wasn't it?

ddaydreams ( ) posted Tue, 23 November 2004 at 3:54 PM

This was no model, through the miracle of AI and lots of hinges and motors this car was able to do that dance all on it's own. It's an option with that car, it comes with the premium package that includes 16 inch Chrome rims:)

cool stuff B-) I don't think the budget would've been as much as millions though.
